KB pissed away 2 big chances again today. He has left 4 on base, again. I'm done. Send him and his chunky wife somewhere else. Get some damn pitching if possible.

People on both sides of town should be happy to see a team play meaningful games in September. It's rare to see that in this city.

Heyward was up 3-0 in the 9th, and then hits a weak ass pop up. Zobrist should have walked, but got hosed on 2 pitches.

GTFO with that nonsense. The Sox haven't played a meaningful game in like seven years, and Cub fans have been lining up to take shots at them every chance they get. Have your shit and eat it too.

this team is done.

But lets take a close look at this.

Earlier we swept em twice at home. At that time, Molina was hurt, Wainright/Wacha/Mikolas sucked dick and were very hittable, Carpenter was relegated to bench.

What's happened this time? Everything is the same, except the dinosaurs are beating us again the way they have in previous years. Carpenter yesterday, Molina both RBIs today, and Wacha pitched good. Take away the dinosaurs and we woulda won both games.

So the difference is the DINOSAURS.

All the other contenders won tonight. This team is done now. No urgency in this team. They rest on their laurels too much.

How many games this year have been blown because the bullpen gives up walks on top of walks?

Probably 20 or more seriously.

If the bullpen was consistent this division wouldn’t even be close.

They weren’t the only problem this season tho.

I gotta give Rizzo & Baez some love here. Team leaders who are hurt and return to contribute in a very important series.

It gives the younger guys a good example to follow and take with them into their future careers.

Obviously they aren't 100% but they could have easily threw in the towel and coasted to September 29th and called it a season.

Couldn't be happier with Zobrist returning as well. One of my favorite Cubs.

The position players need to have a camp this off season called what a fucking slider looks like and how to approach it when it is thrown to you every other pitch.

Yeah good on Rizzo & Baez. KB also playing on a knee that's not 100%.

Yep, that was a douchebag move to pull the kid after one walk in the top of the 5th.

Cards score to make 3-3. Bases still loaded.

Quintana an absolute dud in September.

Do the Cubs have a legitimate #1 or even #2 starter on their team?

Kyle Hendricks is a good pitcher and maybe he's a #2 starter, but most of this rotation (Lester, Quintana, Darvish, Hamils) are pretty solid #3 or #4 type starters.

Caller to Waddle & Silvy summed it up perfectly "Theo can build a winning team, but he cannot sustain it"

They have sustained it. Just not into another WS winner. This will be 4th or 5th straight winning season with multiple playoff appearances.

This second half version of Darvish is one of the 10 best pitchers in baseball so yeah.
