I've taken golf far less seriously this year. Cussing still happens MANY times, but the club throws and slams have been mitigated. Its supposed to be a fun game so I've been trying to treat it as such.

I'm giving serious though to getting fitted next year or the year after as well.

Cussing must be quieter and club abuse is not tolerated at all. I had to apologize to a lady in our foursome Sunday. I chunked some short chips on one hole and did a fuck, fucking, fuck

You know I generally know this but many people I know really need to get this. If you have cash to burn go for it in my book. I usually make sensible choices though.

My most basic thought on this was most of my iron shots outside of long par 3s are 160 and in. That means 6 through the wedges mainly. I think have the strong iron versus off the shelf graphite twist is a consideration. The other is cost versus what 10-12 yards? Nah I can club up I don't have that ego. Finally, when I hit bad many times I have tried to kill it or swing to fast/hard. Slowing down the club head speed for me might not be a disaster.

I just checked a few threads at GolfWRX. This guy has a pretty good reputation. Not recommending him, just a starting point for you. You can message him through
GolfWRX.com message board. He's "Scott@84."

Or his website: http://www.scottpollockgolf.com/

 Mine is more of a "Frank, you fucking idiot," as the ball sails 50 yards right.

I know a couple pros here. One is assistant pro at the club Lemeiux belongs to. So when I go that route I am set. How do you happen to know the guy out in 84? It is a ride for me.

I don't know him, I just read a few threads and his name consistently came up. Like I said, not recommending him, just a starting point.

If you get fitted properly, you only have to make that drive once.

I generally beat him because he can’t help but try to crush the ball. I told him to hit more irons and hybrids off the tee and he found MANY more fairways thus lowering his score and beating me more often near the end of the season.

Sort of a UFBT thing, other than tees, balls, etc, what do you have in your golf bag?

Mine;
-pill container with ibuprofen, allergy/cold medicine, etc
-spray sunscreen so my hands don't get all greasy
-band aids and Burt's Bees ointment for bee stings, poison ivy or whatnot
-beer koozie and a bottle opener
-winter tees, hat, and gloves (as the weather gets cooler)
-extra shirt and socks
-cord to charge my phone as most carts now have a USB plug

I haven't played enough golf this year to even know what is in my golf bag. Piglet bought me a new golf bag and I really didn't move anything over to it from the other one, other than gloves, balls and tees.

Extra underwear and shorts.

Thankfully it's never happened to me, but shitting yourself on the course is one thing, not having something to change into is something I never want to experience.

I've never thought of this, but it's a damn good idea.

I've never thought of this, but it's a damn good idea.

Once I heard similar stories from a few avid golfers, I acted accordingly. T-Bone is also an avid golfer. It happens.

I play the Chrome Soft Truvis ball (currently the Euro Ryder Cup version) and always keep a few of the optic yellow/black for visibility later in the day. I have a stand/carry bag so I like to pack light for the range/practice area.

I use old Irish or Canadian coins as ball markers, couple of extra spikes w/tool, extra used glove, extra new glove, Hank Haney's Gorilla Gold grip enhancer (like a rosin towel), several divot repair tools, rain gloves (best invention ever - I use them if it's insanely humid and I just commit to the sweat), rain hat/jacket, extra contacts, saline solution, antiseptic towellettes, several cotton swaps, cough drops, Alleve, sunscreen, plant-based insect repellent, sunglasses, extra pencil, bandages and a koozie from some goombah social club.

Made an appointment online to get fit at PGA Superstore Saturday morning and using their Fitting Van experience which is a 90 minute session. I hope the guy can help me find the right driver. Going to trade in my Callaway Rogue Sub Zero which I just never hit well consistently. The fitting is $50 and should be worth it and not having me fumble around and guess what is going to work for me. I have an idea of what I like but I'm open to finding what works best for me.

Hmmm.... interesting. I’d love to get it fixed up. Is it silver or copper color?
