He could. They have lost 5 1 run games in a row that have effectively ended their season. Regardless of what has happened the rest of the year those 5 games were each winnable. Joe's lack of fundamental discipline and his bullpen management have directly led to all 5 losses. Terrible bullpen/double switch management, terrible choices on who to pitch (injured/needs low leverage situations Kimbrel twice) and the 3 outs on the base paths in 3 separate games.

I didn't say he couldn't ... I'm saying he will not do that. It serves zero positive purpose.

Joe's pretty bad about pitching, but it's also not his fault that, by and large, his choices most of the year were a parade of turds.

I've had my fill of "bat whoever at leadoff". I'm all good with numbers, but you can keep the numbers on this one. Get a damned contact hitter with some speed to bat #1 so you're not wasting Rizzo at leadoff. I think that's my main point of contention.
