 I just think its funny that I've heard alot of Cubs fans quote their record when not facing the Cubs and try to argue they are a good team, when I think its clear they are not. It's not a coincedence the Sox have 24 runs in 2 games against them.

I've seen that arguement made as well. You will not find me among them. The Cubs have feasted (for the most part) against teams they should beat. They've also beat a couple of good teams at home. Their road record... not so gouda.
They've not lost three in a row yet this season. A good sign, but one which can fall any day now and then to face the White Sox... not a situation I relish.
Z being hurt could force Hendry's hand and make a pitch for Meche or some other middling pitcher that will make little impact now and cost the Cubs more in trying to land Sabathia or Burnett later in the season.
Such is the life of a Cubs fan.

2 Sox wins and 2 Cub losses, and of course Elmhurt Steve is nowhere to be found. Gotta love a guy who talks big shit then stays away with his tail tucked between his legs when things don't go his way.

The Pirates are not a good team, but their not that bad either. I would be one of those fans that quoted the Pirates record against everyone else except the Cubs because it is a valid stat. Yes the Sox scored 20 or so runs against the Pirates, but the Sox did the same against the Twins a few weeks back. I guess that means the Twins are as good as the Pirates.

You know your team has problems when Doug Mientkiewicz is playing right field.

Not the case Dipshit. I was on the boards the night before last. I had a softball game and then was at the bar that sponsors our team after the game with my girlfriend. All things considered, just a better use of the time than sitting home posting messages. I play 3 nights a week-when we are not rained out, so there are nights I am not around to post things. Its so surprise that a fat ass loser like you, neither plays any sports nor has a girlfriend, has every night available to post stupid messages-your specialty.

Beating the Pirates who have had Xavier Nady and Jason Bay out, is not the accomplishment it might be, if they were in the lineup. All the Sox fans who claimed the Cubs were beating a bad team when the Cubs were going 9-3 against them earlier in the season, keep in mind this is a team significantly weaker, with 2 of their top 3 hitters out. If the Pirates should salvage the last game of the series, then the Sox go only 3-3 on the home stand. Whooopeeee. If the Sox win it, it means they were at least able to beat up on a decimated Pirate team, after getting beaten at home by a bad Rockies team. Like I had said before, this team does well against mediocre pitching. It is going to lose the division to Detroit. Detroit is running on all cylinders now (appropriate terminology) and will pass Cleveland and Minnesota before overtaking the Sox.

And their pitchers do well against mediocre batting. And so do the Cubs.

The Pirates' record may be OK on the whole, but those guys can't wait to get the hell out of Chicago fast enough!

Floyd in trouble early. We are gonna need some of those runs we've been getting the past couple games to pull him out of it.

This is nuts. Glad it's a new game now thought at 6-6. I was expecting a long day after they put all those runs up in the top of the inning. Same thing Tuesday night though when I was at the game and they scored 4 off Vasquez early. Could be a fun game.

Wow the bats are awakening again in this series. The highs and lows of living and dying by the long ball can be frustrating, but the highs are definitely awesome.

Pirates pitching tends to be a fantastic alarm clock for sleeping bats.

Wow this game is crazy. Maybe time to get some long relief in there.

Don't care how they win, as long as they win. Bullpen has gotta come up big today.

That ball is definitely flying out of "The Cell" this afternoon! I bet the wind will be blowing out tomorrow at Wrigley. If that's the case, it could be a carbon copy of today's matinee...

Bases loaded on Thome's 1,500th career walk, no outs in the 7th.

Can the Sox petition MLB to play the Pirates more often?? That pitching staff is a joke.

Didn't the mighty Jason Bay play today?

How did that go for the Pirates?

We don't have to end any wait, we won Lombard and Elmhurst last year. Won another double header 10-1 and 12-2 tonight. I don't just post crap on message boards. Thats for fat ass losers and fags who can't play sports, because they are too out of shape and/or uncoordinated and athletic. As much as I like watching games in person or on TV, I much prefer playing. I heard the White Sox game on the Radio and saw the end of the Cubs game at our sponsor- J.T.'s Porch in Lombard. Got a problem with me, we are there after every game on Thursdays.I'm sure all you pathetic Sox fans are all giddy over beating the Pirates, even if most of you called them pathetic when the Cubs were beating them 9 times. But tomorrow that series doesn't mean squat and your squad has to come to THE SHRINE, where the Cubs have won 11 straight. Sure, the Cubs may be without Zambrano and Edmonds and Reed Johnson, but I fully expect the Cubs to win 2 of 3, if they don't sweep. I expect Danks to get lit up,like the poor man's Mark Buehrle he is.
