I couldn't believe Darvish was batting in the bottom of the 8th. Maddon goes from one extreme to the next. Either hes pulling starters when they're effective and fresh for the pen to fuck up or he leaves them in an inning too long. It's like hes managing with the intent of losing a game.

Had to let Darvish try to finish given the bullpen struggles. He was under 100 pitches and this was likely his last start of the year if they lost. Show him you have confidence in him and point him to next year.

Yu was the right move. I wouldnt'a trusted that bullpen either. Strop? Kimbrel? Fuck that. It backfired but still the best bet at this point. Yu's a strikeout pitcher. Man on 3rd with no outs, he's as good an option to get a K there.

Game tied up, noone on, you figure Yu will get the last couple outs.
