People think the Cubs are better than they really are. That is my point.

6+ coaches in a matter of three seasons raises zero red flags for you then?

Cool.

No, but you have to take into account that I am not searching/hoping for reasons that show the Cubs arent good. Im just watching.

Also, I am a managers dont really matter guy, so you can imagine how much stock I put in coaches.

Are you alleging the team with the third best ERA in all of baseball was NOT good?

Just want to make sure how we are bending reality before I answer.

No one is disputing that the team is good. As their roster is currently constructed, though, I wouldn't feel confident about the Cubs' chances in a playoff series, assuming they can make it that far.

The Cubs are like the Chargers. They'll have a good record, but in the end it won't amount to anything.

Who wins a playoff series next, Cubs or Sox?

I must have missed the thread where all the Cubs fans predicted they would only play in the 2018 WC game. Fucking idiot.

It's not 2016 anymore. And the Sox have nothing to do with the Cubs. The Cubs have a good team, but they arent WS material.

Playoffs are a crapshoot. Cubs are certainly good enough to make the playoffs. Giving them a shot at the World Series. Fucking halfwit(s) .

Hindsight is always 20/20, but it appears Midget had this nailed 100%.

Now that we've reached the end, I think it is appropriate to discuss how they will be remembered.

Of course the clapping seals who still adore the loser '69 team will write musicals about them.

I mean the rest of the correct thinking baseball world.

I think they were ultimately a one year wonder. They took advantage of the tanking division to reach the playoffs but they were never really a threat in a generally down NL outside of the improbable 2016. They weren't even competitive when they reached the NLCS.

Coming back the way they did to beat the Giants was pretty remarkable. And the Dodgers never really had a chance in the 2016 NLCS. The NL in 2016 was way down for the sure, but the Cubs beat the shit out of everyone. Its not like they won 87 games and snuck into the playoffs. The division was never in doubt after May 1st. Kudos to them for never really allowing any team to threaten the division or the #1 playoff seed.

Cleveland definitely pissed away the World Series, and no Cub fan can ever again claim 'lightning in a bottle' with the 1 playoff loss 2005 White Sox.
