That was atrocious.

How you get picked off third by that much?

And on a slow curve?

Moncada with six straight multiple hit games. I'd say he is definitely a great candidate for the most improved player in the AL. What a year he is having.

Pitchers should get their own recognition. Moncada has had a monster year playing a different position He now has had 7 multiple hit games in a row.

I'll be honest. I thought Moncada's ceiling was Melky Cabrera after last year's performance. I did have hope for Giolito but I didn't see this coming either. Also didn't see Anderson's defense and Lopez' pitching regressing.

I've always been a Coop supporter but I'm convinced the pitching staff needs a new voice.Today's game has passed him by.

Give the Tigers catcher a lot of credit. The couple of pitches before, the 3rd baseman was way off of the bag and Engle was never going to get picked off. Then the catcher gave a sign for a pick-off and as the pitcher started his motion, the 3rd baseman broke to the bag. Unless the 3rd base coach saw this which wasn't likely since he'd be focusing on the pitcher and batter, Engel got picked off. The Tigers just made a terrific play on that. Engle was obviously going to try and get a jump towards home on a pitch in the dirt. I don't even blame him for what happened.

Maybe it has passed him by. The only way we would know, though, is be firing him. I personally think that the guy who needs to be replaced is Renteria. I do not like his line-ups and his refusal to have the Sox pitchers protect their hitters.

He's gonna have his ashes spread over Section 105 in honor of all the balls he helped put there.

I have officially given up on Fulmer. He is dead to me. As soon as Cooper went out there, I knew that Rameriz was going deep. Oops.....Rameriz now has got 7 RBIs in the 3rd innings.

Tell me something, though. Why in the fuck did Renteria concede this game to the Injuns anyway? What? Did they have a decision to pitch the worst possible White Sox relievers? Why is Palka playing right field and Sanchez playing 2nd base? This looks like a Rookie league team playing against a pennant contender. They are teeing off of Santiago like it was BP. At least play the damned rookies that have a future down the road. I hate Renteria and who he plays and doesn't play.

First of all, Yolmer isn't that bad. He's actually had a fairly decent season for what he is.

As far as the rest of your post, because those are the guys on the roster. Outside of Colome and Bummer, the bullpen sucks and pretty much has all year. They've had MANY relievers on the Charlotte Shuttle throughout the year because they are all so terrible. I highly doubt Ricky went into Hahn's office on August 30th and begged for Covey and Palka to be brought up the next day. I said in another thread that Palka should be playing RF every day. He's up on the roster for some stupid reason, so let him play as a fuck you to Hahn/Kenny/whoever made the decision to bring up a guy who has 4 hits in nearly 70 at bats on the season.

...and the Indians are good. Clevenger is good. Even with the ass kicking last night, the Sox have a winning record vs the Tribe this season.

Yolmer is a fine platoon guy. Like a lot of Sox starters.

There's no reason to play him the last 6 games.

Play Mendick at second, have Collins catch, etc.

He is more utility than platoon.

There are some metrics indicating he is the best defensive 2B in baseball.

No power and doesn't get on base. He starts to become an expensive utility man this year unless they can negotiate something reasonable with him. He will be the starter on Opening Day again next year. He won't be on closing day.

Yeah utility is what I meant.

He's a good bench player on a playoff team.

He is.

And he also strikes me as a guy who is good in the clubhouse, a good teammate, and somebody would go to the bullpen, catch, play OF, or do whatever he could to help the team.

I also think his offense would be more appreciated as a pinch hitter. Big moments don't seem to worry him.
