I cant use the echoes anymore.

Where have I lectured anybody? What sacrifices should I make to qualify as reasonable reductions? I ride a bike to work. I use public transit when not riding. I live in an 800 sq ft apartment with another person. I use smart bulbs and a have learning thermostat synced with ComEd to save maximum energy (selfishly to keep my bill low). Like every Chicagoan I use re-useable bags to carry groceries and attempt to buy in bulk.

Some of my actions aren't necessarily with environmentalism first in mind but any little bit helps. I try where I can. It's better than actively destroying the environment simply b/c I'm all about that time to own the libs life lol lol lol hurr durr.

Kirkwood is correct. He hasn't been lecturing. He's been reasonable.

I'm not. Nothing we can do about it. I s'pose you could put the world into depression and ration energy along with it. That's not fun. Millennials certainly won't like it, hunting the neighborhoods with a flashlight for rabbits to skin and eat. They don't have guns so I hope they're quick.

I think those qualify as reasonable reductions. And I’m not saying you should go live on a commune hippie style but the choice to live in a city, collectively, is doing more to ruin our climate than any one individual does. Food and goods have to be transported to the city from where they are grown and made, etc. Public transit is better than a car but worse than not using public transit at all, etc. So it rubbed me the wrong way that you’re mocking my buddy who lives on a farm and grows and hunts the majority of his food because he doesn’t get all worked up about climate change when he does more about individually, and inadvertently(he’s a redneck, not a hippie) than probably anyone I know.

If more of blue state America lived like red state America our environment would be much better off. That’s my only point.

Earth got its clock cleaned by a comet large enough that a chunk of what was once our planet orbits around us with enough mass to create ocean tides. Yet here's life on Earth.

Planet goes through warming and cool cycle all the time. This one just happens to be accelerated by human factors.

A person like that was gonna likely kill themselves anyways for some reason or another. Good riddance.
