There's something oddly encouraging about a player having as shit a year as Rey Lopez had but basically everyone agreeing that he definitely should be given the same role next year.

Stayed healthy all year....32 starts for the second year in a row. Unbelievably inconsistent...man, if he could get it together and become a 14-game winner...

I'm willing to tolerate him having as many ugly 5ER starts as he has but its the eight(!) starts where he's given up six or more that need to be addressed. Even if he can make those games just bad instead of dreadful it'll give the Sox a chance at winning them.

Either way the Sox are in no position to turn down the nearly twenty quality starts he offered them last year, even if they come at the expense of thirteen utter duds.

That's good analysis right there, definitely.
