What if I bought Spiral alcohol before he cracked.

We both know you can't afford that. But if you passed out drunk, as you two were making out, then you would be a hero and get a book deal. Sounds like a leg up on your current life. So save up and try.

It sounds like somebody bought you alcohol.

Is that why you told someone to go on a shooting spree then kill themselves?

I would've voted to convict for murder and here is why.

If this kunt wanted to take responsibility for her actions, she could've accepted the manslaughter plea. She wasn't interested in taking responsibility though. This worthless kunt thought she could get off entirely on it and took this to trial. She had no intention of taking responsibility so I go full on for murder to punish her for that. Any sob story she tells about being tired is just bogus.

It was a risk/reward gamble she took and I'd ensure she pays the full price of that one.

Uh, this isn't how evidence, jury instructions, or any of about a dozen other things work in a trial. The jury has no knowledge that there was any manslaughter plea deal if there was one, and the prosecution can't enter into evidence her denial of the plea deal.

isn't that how our (broken) criminal justice system works tho? that is, you get offered a plea deal and if you turn it down and go to trial and lose then they throw the book at you. Guyger being a cop would know that as well as anyone. How many perps facing questionable cases end up copping to plea deals b/c going to trial and losing would mean some insanely long sentence for something they might not have been all that involved in.

Not the point. A jury can't decide the guilt or innocence of a defendant based on that defendant's refusal to accept a plea bargain. That's not admissible evidence in a trial and impermissible for a juror to decide a case based on that standard.

If it's systemic racism, why is it so important to report the race of the officer but was not important at all in the Baltimore incident?

When the cop casually shot an unarmed woman because he feared for his life?

10 year sentence... I hope the kunt gets murdered in prison. That would be the only way justice will ever be truly served.

If Texas state sentences are anything like other states, she'll get time shaved off her sentence for no write-ups and be paroled by Christmas 2023.

It really is a disgrace, considering the judge recommended like 28yrs.

I think the judge will take it easy on her. If I read correctly the judge allowed her to use the castle doctrine as a defense in another man's house. No more than 10 years is my guess.

I was thinking about this yesterday, the guy was probably there in his happy place, enjoying ice cream and watching a favorite show. He put the cares of the world behind him for a little while. Then this woman barges in and destroys everything.

10 years was very light. A person's home isn't even sacred. If he was defending his home in Texas he would be hailed. When the opposite occurs the punishment should be harsh

Racist patriot is the wrong phrase. Police Officer is what you should have used.

100% agree, but as we have seen time and time and time again, police officers get every benefit of every doubt in the justice system. I don't think it would be crazy to suggest that Jason VanDyke would not be in prison right now had shot that kid say three times instead of sixteen. They are held to a different standard, which is often a lesser standard. Its a double gut punch because often cops are of lesser intelligence. Not all mind you, but MANY.

I get your point exactly. I can only think some lenience/belief in her wrong apartment story led to the sentence.

Which is why there are sentencing guidelines and ranges they can give.

I think people tend to under estimate what it means to be a convicted felon. She may not be in prison, but it's not like she's going to be thriving after she's released.

If she had just said that he was trying to rape her would she be free now?

Im a convicted felon, it fucked up my job for 7 years but after that.. Nothing. Most background checks go 7-10 years.

I thought she should serve 10 or 11 years get sentenced to 22.

You aren't a famous one at that. I've known some others who do not have your experience. Murder is a tough one to overlook.

That's possible. Story in the paper today about a guy who served 8.5 years after murdering his wife. Seems too short. 10 years (5 in reality) in this case seems brief.

But Golden Jet's point made no sense.
