Really? The buzz about the plot was about him being a somewhat sympathetic character that is driven by mental illness and the ongoing ridicule he faced stemming from it. Supposedly a “woke” movie of some sort. Hell, there was even some Oscar buzz out there.

The bad reviews seem to say that the performance by Phoenix is good, but the movie itself really goes nowhere.

The regressive leftist reviewers started shrieking a month ago about how this isn’t a good movie for the time we live in, and it could provoke incel violence.

Pretty much all the responses to these woke concerns were basically SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Much like the schism between the critic and audience reviews of Chappelle’s latest stand up. Except in this case there are MANY critics who actually really like this movie. The woke critics seem to be in the minority. Some of them hadn’t even seen Joker when they were posting their laughable concerns.
