History has shown they will take broad stands against "racism" when it's sure to win them applause on Twitter. Being actually committed to social justice would meant not supporting a repressive Chinese government in it's war on Hong Kong citizens.

The rest is just you suggesting anyone who disagrees is a bigot. Typical.

Also, how has China changed at all since tuning into the NBA? It's ridiculous to say the NBA has nudged anything.

There was no twitter when they began taking social justice stands. Not really all that much of a surprise that you are ignorant to this particular fact. You are such the hypocrite that you would still bash even if they did take a stand against human rights abuses.

Also predictable is your usual fallback "If I disagree I will be accused of bigotry" B.S. At some point maybe your points and idiotic arguments will be relevant to things that people actually say as opposed to your ill conceived interpretation of things that people have said.

Can you provide an example of this country taking a stand against the human rights abuses of China? Over the past 25 or 30 years? The NBA is criticized for doing something that our almighty Govt has failed to do.

Check out our response to Tiannamen 30 years ago. Or our (non) response to what's going on with Muslims in CHina currently. Everyone (including hypocrites like you and Ogie) turn a blinds eye to human rights issues. The NBA "social justice" has been concentrated to mostly events that have occurred in America. I know that it rankles you (your comments about "rage posting" are laughable BTW) whenever someone advocates for African Americans or any other minority in America but get over it. Or don't. I don't much care either way. To pretend that you are all that concerned about the plight of the downtrodden (all of a sudden) is a joke.

Everything that I stated is factual. If the NBA were to take a stand against China the very same collection of Usual Suspects would be out in force with their usual array of NBA bashing talking points.

When you have a dude referencing Twitter of all things as the genesis for the NBA's "Social Justice" movement then you know that you are interacting with a guy that doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.

:D Well, afaik, unlike the FANG companies, the NBA isn't holding their games in China in arenas surrounded by suicide nets, or providing the latest AI facial recognition technology so China can better surveil its citizenry, or teaching them how to use DNA and other up to date LE techniques to keep their population in line.

Admittedly, it's a low bar. But 500 million Chinese watching NBA games, sporting NBA jerseys, following players, their exploits on and off the court, their daily lives in the press and on social media can't help but to inspire some yearning to be free(er) in the population of China.

Why pretend that we care about their values? We have only cared about their cheap labor and spending power. We have enough crap going on in our own country that we don't need to be the world's moral police in addition to being the world's military.

I hear you but this is true for our country as well. We work hand and hand with many countries who commit human rights violations daily because it's in our national interest. We also crush others militarily and economically for the same reasons. When it comes to $$$ MANY are hypocrites.

People say this but I don't think it's true. Americans love a good war and are so desperate for decent fair scrap that they are now openly fantasizing about just carving the country up and going to war against each other.

All it takes is for China to actually invade Hong Kong, the US to establish a naval blockade and for the Chinese to sink a carrier and it's on. That's how close we are.

Maybe the next guy/gal, Warren's got some warrior blood. : )

Trump appears to be Neville Chamberlain when it comes to dealing with shitheel dictators. But maybe he's saving up for a big 'un; and that's why he keeps saying no to the Neocons perpetual minor wars agenda. Being actual, boots-on-the-ground, US-soldiers-in-the-ground war-shy might be the only redeeming thing about Trump.

A US carrier on the bottom with five thousand American lives lost would be an act of war unequivocally.

Pretty well had it with this insistence that the US military is some nefarious actor with only dastardly intentions while the elected politicians have been the ones giving protection to countries like Saudi Arabia and China for decades.

Well now LeBron can try to have Chinese Take Out Thursday, with the mock Chinese voice, and try to get an endorsement for that since he fell into line.

No need for a deflection as i wasn't the one to first reference race or the fact that NBA prides itself for being the "woke" league.

The person bringing up racism is the same idiot on here that always brings up racism. There are people here that always reference the SJW nature of the NBA. Its the only time that they ever talk about the NBA. Its fair to question why this is the only thing about the NBA which seems to concern them. WFR to his credit does attempt to actually talk about the games from time to time. Others here only see the NBA as the second or third incarnation of the Civil Rights Movement. As such it does seem to perturb them for whatever reason.

Huge NBA preseason tilt on NBA.TV. Pelicans/Hawks

Going to try and catch Fultz on the league pass. Will tape that game along with Bulls Bucks

Did you enjoy the summer league?

Didn't watch much. Weak draft coupled with most of the top guys sitting made it relatively garbage.

Maybe 2-3 games tops.

The Heat think they got a steal with Tyler Herro.

Well at least you had the 2018 summer league to watch on replay.
