Lebron simply said it was a bad look for Morey on the eve of the NBA's Big Chiner Week to pop a tweet expressing support for the protesters. Hard to argue. Lebron prolly could've expressed it better first go around; especially since they had all that time to work on a response. "Don't poke the pooh bear when you're about to be a guest in the bear's den" is Judith Martin 101.

But if you are going to be an outspoken voice against injustice, you can't come back and say Morey wasn't smart and didn't have facts on the ground or talk about how it put you and your fellow players in a tough position.

Come back from China, say something generic like "Oppression of human rights isn't cool" and move on.

You don't come back after a few days when the story has died down and essentially say "sure it may be rough for Hong Kong but the real victims are NBA players".
