I just dont think this reductionist "well since <x player> has never won a ring that means its not a path to success" is the way forward. The Patriots thing cannot last forever, maybe another two seasons after this one at most. Once they're gone this whole league is going to open up significantly, especially the AFC. There's going to be a lot of paths to success and it'll be a very competitive environment once Billy Ballgame and Tommy Touchdown aren't around.
