The other development that demands attention is the little-reported news that, according to Yahoo Sports, “at least five” NBA teams are preparing for a lowering of the salary cap—what each team may spend on players—by as much as 10 to 15 percent, based on lost revenue as a result of the China fallout. That would mean as much as $17 million less that each team could spend on player salaries.

Again no it was not stated.

I specifically asked who stated this and you cited the author. Turns out the author never actually stated anything.

What a shock it was to find this out.
The author cited $17 million per team in salary cap losses. That would be a billion dollar loss every year. That means that the author indicated that Morey supposedly cost the NBA billions. The only question is over how many years and how many billions.

There is nothing in the article which suggests that Morey has cost them anything and if he did he would already have been fired by now.

Wrong.
"The Chinese government, of course, was not amused with Morey’s keyboard activism. It terminated several lucrative contracts with the league and canceled the television broadcast of an exhibition game in Shanghai between LeBron’s LA Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets."

Still not a billion dollars. Should have thrown that in there. You claimed it was in the article and it wasn't. Again shocking.

There is a number in there that means a billion dollar loss per year league wide. It just happens to not have done the math of multiplying it by 2 and then by 30. Even if the number isn't $17 million but is instead $6 million we get to billions of losses.

If I said that my friend makes $1,000 a week at his job, would it be fair to say I also said he makes $52,000 a year?

the deal with 10 Cent is worth 1.5 billion over 5 years. So $50 million per team. $10 million per team per year, 50% to the players. So that's $5 mil off the salary cap each year for the length of the deal.

Some estimates claim that the total value of all NBA activity in China could be worth as much as $4 billion / $130 million a team over those 5 years. $26 mil a year a team, half to the players, $13 mil of salary cap space lost each year.

Players might get slightly more than 50% + the numbers are approximate--it could get to $17 mil of cap space per year per roster at the high end.

What you don't quite "understand" is that you reached that conclusion based on the speculation of 5 NBA teams. Allegedly. You do not know if its true or not first of all. Secondly is the fact that you made the statement as if it has already "Morey has cost them billions" occurred. It hasn't and the author of the article never said that it did.

You made it up.

It is a bit of a sad day where these guys know it's more socially unacceptable to support an occupation with stratospheric suicide rates that is absolutely essential to a functioning society than a communist dictatorship. And I reckon the communist part has a lot to do with it. So much about the NBA reeks of old Soviet propaganda.

A cross between an old Soviet poster and an NBA poster would be a big seller if the likely target audience didn't go into a state at the sight of Cyrillic.

I am also legitimately concerned about Leash. He was one of the only people to PM me just to shoot the shit.

Denis can’t be the only one who has the ability to reach out to LYK.

He never posted during or after the Disney trip he was supposed to go on.

I mean if he’s dead someone would know, right?

Maybe he just sees this place as evil.

Accurate.
