“It’s weird,” Burton said. “Because you’re in a position where you want to play as hard as you can but you don’t want to get hurt. You gotta figure out a fine line.”

Regarding this I’m actually surprised the Sox haven’t signed some slugger like Dunn only for him to sit out because he’s worried about being hit by a pitch. Maybe it happens this year.

I couldn't believe that a football player was saying that.

Exactly ! When has a football player ever mentioned something like that? More wasted money.

Not sure you all have considered his kid’s graduation and future business meetings

It’d be cool if Jimmy Graham started worrying more about his mental health.

If he really said that stuff, he probably shouldn't be in the NFL. You probably can get hurt worse if you don't play all out.

He said worse. It's in the Sun-Times.

"He plays the Travis Kelce role."

Yea and I play the John Wick role.

GTFO with that.

He's clearly soft and comparing his role to Kelce's is a great moment of Bears delusion, but after reading the article it's obvious what he means by this stuff he's saying. His groin is injured and he's worried about it specifically aggravating itself. He's not in general afraid of getting (or at least isn't saying so), he's just not wanting to play at less than 100%.

At this point what can they do. Its a bad situation. The Bears have more than one of these bad situations. Whereas the defense seems to be able to plug Nick Williams, Kwiatkowski, Bush (ok this is a big drop), RRH, Saint-Pierre, Iggy etc. in and suffer almost no drop in the play the offense is thin as paper. And I'm not sure it's all personnel.

Whitehair and Daniels have played well enough since a rough start to the season and Leno can still pass block adequately. They have an OL that should be getting more done. Maybe it's not a strength of the team but it's also not one of the five or so least talented units in the NFL. The penalties are killing them. The scheme is killing them. This isn't a bunch of world.beaters, with the exception of Robinson who's been excellent, but they should be doing way better.

I'm pretty sure if you don't play nfl football at less than 100% you probably play fewer than 30 minutes a season.

I'm just putting his words into the proper context. Obviously this situation is not good and Burton needs to man the fuck up.

Always found it funny how they would say a TE was a "willing blocker" when his technique sucked but he would at least square up and take on a defensive player. Guess that would make Burton an "unwilling blocker", but Nagy himself is to blame because he calls on his TE's to single up on on backside of running plays frequently even though he knows none of them are competent.

They invested a lot of money and confidence into a guy they apparently knew nothing about.

There is nothing more damning for a football player than to get a reputation as soft.

I look at many teams across the league and their second TE is better than anything we have on our roster.

In case no one has figured it out yet, Ryan Pace doesn't have a CLUE about offensive talent or offensive football in general.

Look at his offensive body of work since 2015. It's OFFENsive.

I disagree with you about the offensive line. With Long no longer able to play and with their two piece of shit tackles, this is over-all a terrible offensive line. Re-signing Massie and Leno was a big mistake. They should have been cut and two new tackles brought in. They were bad decisions. And when Long was hobbled last year, they should have drafted his replacement. I think a lot of the problems with the offense gets fixed with a better offensive line.

That is true. However, I think that a groin injury can be a different case as is a bad hamstring. I've had both and the pain is a show stopper not to mention if you tear it, you are pretty much out of the sport that you play.

It's arguably the 2nd most important position in the offense.

It's alarming how well NOLA has drafted since Pace left.

Pace has done really well defensively. The jury is still out on the offense.

This year he's played more of a Jack Haley, "rah rah" type role.

Lattimore is better than any Pace pick on D and Thomas and Kamara are better than any Offensive draftee.

I'm thinking they put him on A.R. and he gets less than 40 yards..no TD

Dude is a lock down corner, he's much improved since last year.

He's really not. Good corner? Yes. Lockdown? No.

Fact is his best season was his rookie season. If you would take Lattimore over Eddie Jackson you're insane.

I've watched his last 3 games, I've been betting on N.O.

He's great, he can take out any WR or TE and remove em from the game.. you'll see tomorrow when he sticks Robinson. I'd rather have a great corner over a great safety.

Lattimore is a good corner but his hammies are a tinder box. NO was one of the two best NFL teams before Brees got injured. This is going to be a crucial game for the season. Expect Peyton to really spread things around offensively. The guy schemes better than any other coach in the NFL and the BEars had better be ready.
