MOST posters are able to disagree and be civil with one another.

You and I for instance are a good example of this, on, as well as off the board.

I'm fairly confident that just about everyone here wouldn't call you civil. After all I appear to be one of if not your only supporter and you've never been civil.

What pray tell is the "JORR strawman"?

JORR straw man:
Any criticism or disagreement is someone calling you a racist or a bigot.

It's used to dismiss views of others and quite frankly it's race baiting. Crest has used it as a crutch for the past couple of weeks.

Are you saying you weren't minimally intimating that I was bigoted for my stance on the NBA/China? If you tell me you weren't I'll accept that. But it certainly seemed like it. If I had to guess I would say you probably searched the board to see my past posts about LeBron James and couldn't find any that complained about his activism or mocked his support for BLM. Because I've never disliked LeBron James or had any issues with his politics. In fact, I can remember being offended that guys like bernstein and Phil Jackson dismissed Maverick Carter and LeBron's other guys as a "posse" rather than giving them their due respect as executives/businessmen.

But I don't think Donald Trump has anything to do with guys like Kerr, Popovich or LeBron positioning themselves as voices for "social justice" and suddenly abandoning that stance when it might hit their pocketbooks. Steve Kerr pretending to be confused on the issue of Chinese government thugs cracking skulls in Hong Kong is what's really pathetic. And everybody knows it.

Yeah when I get bored enough I venture back in to the Politics section but I really don't get the incentive to post daily here about that bullshit

Why not ? I’m sure whatever point you make will be the one to get someone to change a previously held belief .

Only if their previously held belief was the same point I was making

I am not playing that game and I don't have to search the board to understand the president and his policies has greatly influenced your thoughts over the past 3 or 4 years. I stand by what I said. If you decide to read more into my words there is nothing I can do or say to change that and I have no desire to try.

The Julie Dicaro thread is nothing more than a political thread. The only reason that it relatively issue free is because over 90% of the people that post there are in full agreement about her. Tells you a lot about the preferred method for posting on here.

Funny that the same guys who are constantly whining about SJWs are suddenly upset about someone hating Trump supporters. If that is how he happens to feel there is nothing for him to apologize for. He said nothing wrong and he is right about the far right element here that is growing by the day.

Leash simply pointed out an obvious contradiction.

Leash was once a solidly "liberal" guy here.

After 18 months of waiting for simple answers on why Trump was being investigated, he had the temerity to speak up here. Asked for something more from the media than simple talking points.

Overnight he went from being liberal, and a good guy, to some sort of virulent racist. Eerily similar to what has been done to JORR as well. And now, it's a growing right wing conspiracy on the board.

I never accused him of being a racist. Not once nor did i ever hint that he was a racist either.

He did however encourage individuals who posted and said racist things to post and say racist things. Where i'm from they're known as sendoffs.

He had capital with a great number of individuals on here and as such knew that he'd always get cover on it.

There is no doubt in my mind that the behavior of certain posters on here was strongly encouraged by him and it helped to create a more toxic environment.

You don't really get a lot of that here now Imo.
You also do not get as much engineering of discussions either.

People discuss things they want to discuss and ignore the things that don't want to discuss. Every thread isn't a referendum on how "good" or "bad" this place happens to be either and there is a lot less of the longing for the halcyon days and posters either.

If it was so great then those guys would not have left either.

IIRC he stitched their profile photos together and made it his.

Publicly and privately no one who was friendly with Leash before the 2016 election stopped liking him. The only people who changed their opinion about Leash was the far right of the community.

The first part of your post is accurate.

The second part I don’t think is true.

I just so happened to be in a group at the time with nearly everyone from the board who was friendly with Leash before November of 2016 and I can't recall 1 person ever saying that they disliked him or thought the worst of him. They may not have been hanging out with him but all were very gracious

I liked him until he started getting weird about me and claiming that I was "insulting whole groups of people" because I would make jokes like calling Julie's Twitter nemeses "The Fish-Holding Guy from Naperville" and stuff like that.

Where the fuck did he run off to, btw (leash)? I have to remind myself that some posters aren't meant to be moderated... Their opintions are just too far right... And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to ban them in the first place up does rejoice. Still, the place board you post on in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into one of those things where if I can’t find specific phrases like, “I used to like him, and now I don’t” then you won’t be satisfied.

I’ll pass.

Oh the “group”.

Nvm.

That's certainly more than you're offering up here. What evidence do you have of posters who used to like him but stopped?

I have a feeling this is going to turn into one of those things where if I can’t find specific phrases like, “I used to like him, and now I don’t” then you won’t be satisfied.

I’ll pass.

Like I said, Nas is offering up more than you here, so I'm inclined to believe he has a more educated take on the situation. You just like stirring shit, poorly.
