Could it be possible that the modern Conservative doesn't have a stick up his ass the way the modern Liberal does?

In most forms of entertainment, the right don't get many score one for us moments. I think the right fully acknowledge that both chappelle and southpark have often torched their side of the aisle but appreciate those entities ability to not turn a blind eye to the large demographic on the other side as hollywood is so apt to do.

Chapelle has ripped into white audiences, sometimes refusing to perform for (mostly white) audiences who want him to act like a black homeless crack addict. He's pretty good about staying authentic, though his old show left the door open for racists to laugh alongside everyone else. I was surprised that he was surprised that some people would miss his point.

Minus the overt racism, the far right and left behave the same way. They take everything serious unless it comes from them, they whine all of the time, they love being victims, if you don't agree with 100% of their crap, you are evil. There may not be 2 groups of people more annoying.
The left has overt classism

SNL hires and then fires someone over racist and homophobic language, but then has plans to have Eddie Murphy host. I'm not at all put out by it (the jokes in question weren't funny and didn't force me to re-think some issue), but it would be interesting to hear what Murphy has to say about this.

Sometimes a feel that life has passed me buy when I read a name in a story like Hannah Gadsby referenced as a person influencing society and I have no idea who that person is.

The woke crowd has the moral screech power and they have the brain-dead corporations in their pockets. Who isn't concerned about them coming after you? Good article.

The problem isn't that they whacked him, it's that they should have caught it before hiring him. It was a pretty simple case of poor vetting.

Was it comedy?

That was the problem. There was nor satire or irony in the conversation. That I could tell anyway.

"Aspiring public figure says dumb things in public and loses job later" isn't exactly a story to feel sorry about.

Mental illness. As soon as we as a society accept this is a mental illness and not "born in the wrong body", the quicker we can deal with this type of stuff and get them help.

"(I) don't get mad at 'em, don't hate on 'em," he said while discussing comedians he knows to be racist. "Man, it's not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. Second Amendment is just in case the First one doesn't work out."

The former “Chappelle Show” star has been talking about freedom of speech and "cancel culture" a lot since his recent Netflix standup special, “Sticks & Stones,” received backlash for defending comedians like Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart as well as telling a series of jokes about transgender people.

"Political correctness has its place,” Chappelle told reporters on the red carpet (via The Hill). “We all want to live in a polite society, we just kind of have to work on the levels of coming to an agreement of what that actually looks like.”

“I, personally, am not afraid of other people's freedom of expression. I don't use it as a weapon. It just makes me feel better. And I'm sorry if I hurt anybody,” the comedian added. “Yada, yada, 'everything I'm supposed to say.”

Ok, ok--I'm not saying "would." I am not saying that.

But look, if I get thrown back in jail . . . and it's more than, say, three days . . . that's what I'd be looking for in a cellmate.
