Why would WFAN bring in an outsider to New York? Pappy doesn't really know Chicago sports or Chicago sports history.

You think those New Yorkers would accept an idiot like North? No way. It wouldn't fly at all.

Plus, North couldn't beat Mike and Mike in his own home town. That's a joke. How could North beat Mike and Mike in New york? Mad Dog does killer ratings in New York.

If he sucks in his home town, at a great station for him to have success, with the only format he can have success at, how can he succeed any where else?

I've noticed that Drinky, Goff, and who every runs the Pappy myspace page are on line on myspace. I see them as friends on Jen's page and they are all on line.

North was on WFAN for a couple days while they were thinking about replacing Don Imus last summer. Mike Francesa & Chris Russo aren't exactly on speaking terms these days in New York, according to what I read online at FOXsports.com yesterday. There's talk those two may be breaking up, a la Steve Dahl & Garry Meier some 15 years ago here. I have no clue where North will resurface if this is indeed it at "The SCORE". I don't think North will resurface at any other Chicago station.

North has never been in the knowledge/information business. He's in the opinion business and he's got plenty polarizing ones to get the phones to light up.
He'll pop up somewhere on the Chicago radio dial.
IMHO, He and Dahl would actually make for an interesting radio experiment.

Could be a ploy. Pappy is hoping they come crawling back to him. Don't do it WSCR. I don't think they will.

This could just be more posturing. It's not over until I see the Score announce the new progam lineup.

North is one of the last links to the original Score and whether anybody here likes it or not, he is still one of, if not the, face of the Score.

If Murph left, there wouldn't be 5 threads started in 10 minutes about it. I might start 2 but that's about it.

Last night( I don't even remember who was doing the show) referred to Danny B as the face of the station.

As far as I know, Sean Salisbury's not doing anything since ESPN dropped him in favor of Cris Carter. Then again, Salisbury wasn't that good when he paired up with Steve Rosenbloom briefly...

I won't believe it until NSJ's guy at the emissions place confirms it .

Mike and Mike and Mike and the Mad Dog are two different shows (unless I read your post wrong)



Francesca is doing the same thing North is doing right now, but he's officially on vacation right now (someone broke the story that they were done over the weekend, the source was most likely Francesca, they don't get along, but most think it's probably a contract ploy)

Mike and the Mad Dog is a great show, by the way. It's hilarious, and not intentionally.

Dahl is too rich, too old, too big literally and figuratively to be willing to commit to such an experiment. He was a legend before Mike knew what a radio is.
