That said, if Ricketts had any foresight, you fire Theo and company now because you don't want him evaluating contracts for his own guys. Theo and Jed are tossing thinly veiled digs at Joe's loose ship. Mentioning concern about a lack of accountability, baserunning, mental errors, hands off approach, lack of regimentation. Then Ricketts jabbing at Theo saying that how important player development is and it goes hand in hand with winning and spending. Then saying he'll spend near the top in MLB, but not go deep in luxary tax territory. Implying he's not going to bandaid Theo's mistakes by reckless spending. I thought Kap did a good job backing Theo and Ricketts into a no bs corner the best he could without burning bridges. Theo squirmed as usual. Ricketts is definitely not happy with the team and Theo even though the other side of his mouth he says otherwise.

Theo has been very very straightforward and honest in his assessments. And if you don’t think so you’re incredibly biased and/or fail to understand a big part of his job is to be a politician at times.

Theo walked back the "10 Year" deal a while ago. He specifically said that wasn't a fixed number. I think he's sticking around for the next WS appearance.

Listen to the Kap/Ricketts/Theo interviews. Kap asks all right questions now that he won't be with Cubs channel. Mac and Parkins know there are lines in the sand that can't be crossed with Ricketts or Theo. It's almost like it's a scripted interview. Parkins gets scared and is sheepishly quiet for a lot the time.
