Yup. Even a pro bowl wasn't enough. Fan expectations probably are why he is struggling.

It's really unfortunate the type of hate they can have for a player because he isn't Mahomes and his coaches are bad at their jobs.

I've grown to hate Mitch because he is bad at his job.

Mahomes, Watson, Jackson, etc have nothing to do with it,

It's unfortunate that I remember the name of the QB(Marquise Williams) that kept his sorry ass on the bench until there was no competition his senior year.

It happens. A lot of NFL players had to sit behind inferior players in college.

Problem is that Williams was clearly better and had had a decent record iirc. He just didn't get the magical combine bump like Mitch.

I'm not a college guy but reading through those threads it appears that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was seen as the best quarterback in the draft by MANY "experts" before the combine. Apparently his combine performance just reinforced that.

It was obvious to anyone that watched even a little of either guy that Watson was the superior prospect by a significant margin.

It looked like injury and decision making scared some teams off.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky wasn't a turnover machine in college and as awful as he has been this season he still hasn't been a turnover machine. The data says that you can count on him if you are tied or down on your last drive of the game. According to everyone in the building he works his ass off. He just takes than most to understand some things.

This is an indictment, not praise.

Of course he doesn't have a lot of turnovers. He doesn't throw the ball downfield. He has to be a game manager to keep the team in any kind of competitive offensive situation.

And wasn't accuracy one of his big traits coming out of college?

He threw the ball downfield last season and didn't turn the ball over

Maybe He's not smart but he makes up for it with hard work. Hard work usually pays off in the end.

Smart work pays off more. If he's working hard it's on the wrong things.

Correct. He throws five yard slants or screens all dam day. He should have ZERO turnovers.

He threw the ball downfield last season and didn't turn the ball over

That is because it was 10 yards over the receivers head 90% of the time.

Maybe if you're a halfback or a lineman sure but there are not many great stupid quarterbacks.
Mitchs problem is between his ears. I'm not sure if it's a mental block or if it's a lack of intelligence yet but dumb is gaining on mental block coming out of the last turn.

Maybe it's time to stop kissing Mitch's ass and admit he's another failure. Pace should be fired today for having traded up in order to pass on Mahomes and Watson.

Nagy and Mitch should be out the door as well. Year 3 is when you discover who a QB truly is... well we know who Mitch is now.

Not true. All 12 of his INTs last year were on passes of 10 yards or more.

Quote:
From 10-20 yards he completed 54% of his passes on 87 attempts. He had five touchdowns and five interceptions to go with 7.6 yards per attempt.

When attacking the deep field, he hit 38% of his passes on 82 attempts. However, these went for 12.2 yards per attempt, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
