I need to see consistency. Right now I'm convinced he's overthinking things and only plays well when he shuts his brain off, which is not a good long-term way to grow at the position.

Turned his brain off, found a corner that was jumping the route and targeted him over and over again, hitting Robinson each time. That wasn't going to happen in every game this season.

sounds like the lions played mostly man coverage yesterday... why would you plan man against a QB who cant read a defense?

He played ok. He had a couple of nice TD throws and didn't turn the ball over. However, the Lions were giving up over 400 yards of offense per game heading in to yesterday, and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky managed to throw for a whopping 173 yards. O'Donnell had nine punts. Nine times the offense failed to get something going against the 31st ranked defense in the league who had a bunch of guys out with injury and were playing 3rd and 4th stringers by the time the second half came around. The bar has to be set so much higher for Mitch and the offense in general.

A better QB would have easily thrown for 300 yards and put up 30+ points. The Bears did have some drops that hurt him, and there was some offensive line issues, but all this showed is that Mitch is merely an "OK" quarterback.

I'll crush a drive and stick an iron to 8' and birdie a few holes here and there on the golf course. That doesn't mean I'm a good golfer. It means I can play well once in a while but likely not over the course of the entire round. Which is what Mitch has shown this season. There are flashes, but he is not the guy to play well enough for an entire season to take the Bears deep into the playoffs.

Nagy and others talk about the drops, but on the flip side, there were passes that were caught that were not great throws.

He wasn't that much better than Driskell. He played OK. He protected the football, and the TD passes were great. It was also the Lions who were about the worst defense in the league yet the Mitch-lead offense punted nine times.

I'm more interested in what Nagy has to say about Mitch and the QB position in general after the season is over.

That happens for all quarterbacks. Last week Kirk Cousins got a touchdown pass on a throw he was clearly throwing away.

It would be best if we just judged him on his overall work, which at least for one game was good, instead of feeling the need to put down the good plays he made.
