Eyes Wide Shut
The Pursuit of Happyness

That wasn't just bad, but extremely weird to boot.

It was very weird. But being a Trumpet from flyover country, I'm not really a sexual sophisticate. I would have expected a liberal Lab School guy to understand what was going on.

Yeah, too bad there wasn't a lathe in it or something.

Took me a moment but,

I understood it fine  , I just wasn't convinced that the asexual or frigid Cruise family would agree to it & they couldn't sell it.

Yeah, there was zero chemistry between those two. It's hard to believe they were married. It was almost like he was gay or something.

Easily The Postman. That was the suckfest to end all suckfests.

Also The Thin Red Line, which I slept through at the theater. I saw it again a couple years later and it’s actually an alright movie (I guess), but it’s hyped up by the type of people who thought they were smarter than you because they understood No Country For Old Men. Major red flag in my book.

I mentioned in the Album thread that I listened to the entire Naked City Grand Guignol record. The thing that caused me to dig it out and throw it in the player was that I saw this movie the other day called Funny Games that used a song from it.

Anyway, I didn't see Funny Games in the theater but I think it is specifically designed to make half the audience walk out. There are two versions of the film, the first one is in German and about ten years later the director filmed a shot-for-shot re-creation with English speaking actors. I saw the English version. It stars Michael Pitt and Naomi Watts. Truly disturbing.

Forgot about that one. What a complete piece of shit, only funny now in memes dedicated to athletes like Greg Oden.

I like the movie. I get that it was slow and long but I enjoyed it. I love the chemistry between Kidman and Cruise, they were in a bad place and were supposed to be in a bad place in the movie. It felt like Lindsey and Stevie singing go your own way.

I thought the visuals were great I liked the themes. I clearly love Lynch so I am drawn to movies that are dream like though.
