To be fair, shouldn’t we be comparing her to Olchyk who is the analyst? Pierre was that weird between the benches guy that talks to much who has been replace by Brian Boucher. I understand that McGwire started to do the analyst role on the second team this season but I doubt many people realize this. Zawaski was talking about her too and was comparing her to McGuire.

A lot of NBC games don't have a true color guy in the booth, just play-by-play upstairs and the analyst between the benches.

This must be something new this season. I have only watched a couple games on NBC Sports. But in the past it was Emrich/Olchky/Mcquire and then a secondary team of Albert/Micheletti/Boucher.

I find a 3 person hockey broadcast too cluttered. The way they are doing it, the color analyst can also do the interviews of the opposing coaches, etc.

They've been doing it in the playoffs for a couple years now, usually when they're stretched thin and can't simulcast the CBC for a series. They'll use Pierre or Boucher as the sole analyst but at ice level. I don't mind the setup, doesn't really add or subtract anything as far as I can tell.

The only time I remember a team doing this was Jersey about ten years ago because to have 20 players on the active roster would have put them over the salary cap. Then as now, a fireable offense.

Why? Because he tripped himself after being on the ice for the full PP that only had 1 face off. All those guys were gassed. Eddie O said at the time Colliton should have used his TO if he was going to leave those guys on the ice for the last 20 secs since the FO was in the offensive zone.

Game was on NHL Network tonight so I was able to catch the 3rd period. Saad isnt going to go down in the scorebook as having done much but he was busting his ass out there and getting the puck and also setting the table. It's too bad the guys took his passes and did dick with them. Cool too see the shootout settled by Dach and Hughes in the 5th rd. Dach has the "it" factor and buried a nice one of the top post. Hughes had a nice move too but didn't finish it. Strome should never shoot in a shootout again. That was just not good at all. Surprised Toews has a better percentage in the shootout than Kaner.
