Frank almost got his wish the week in that it nearly did me under. If not for the Corned Beef and Cabbage, I'm not sure I would still be here.

I've had a respiratory bug for about a month now. Fucking sucks. Sinus pressure and runny nose. Up half the night, every night, coughing up goop. Low grade fever, 99.1-99.4. General malaise. Now I have a swollen gland on the right side of my neck.

Fuck this.

My dad and I both had it in early October.

I felt bad for one of my colleagues, he got married last month but they held off on going on an overseas honeymoon until today to avoid picking a family with which to spend Thanksgiving. And last week he picked up this crap and hasn't been able to shake it.

I get sick like every other year. Last couple years I avoided anything and got flu shots. Coincidence maybe.

Reason I quoted FF and he will likely remember and admit. When you go into army you go down a line and they shoot you full of shots and vaccines up and down your arms. They plan some slow days after that because some feel shitty.

I am telling you though I was never sick for the next 15 years. Not once. He might still be extending this window.

For every outage at work we bring in bout 800 people, from all over. They bring along colds, the flu, cholera, scabies, brucellosis, the clap, the jack, and ebola. I end up with a stew for a week or so, twice this year! I think I'll try licking the doorknobs on my way in to work for a week before next fall..

Then why the fuck even bother losing faith in humanity?

I have a pretty bad ear infection that is quite painful and annoying.

I'm also pretty hungover today, and my wife is at work so I'm on Dad Duty. You think bright lights and loud noises are bad for a hangover? Try chasing a 14 month old around the house with a BAC still at about .02 from the previous evening. I might as well just shoot myself in the face and end this misery now.

I rarely get sick.

Last Thursday, I woke up with a mild sore throat. I had a feeling something was about to go down. Friday afternoon, I lost my voice instantly. Couldn't talk the entire weekend. This past week, it hurt to talk and swallow. Ate a lot of soup. Wednesday, the coughing up phlegm began. Started feeling normal enough yesterday to go out. Voice is finally back. Sore throat is gone. Cough is getting better.

havent been sick in over a year. woke up with some back of throat soreness. did not get worse today.. hopefully its gone tomorrow morning.
