so basically you're gonna get a black check if you live in Evanston starting next year? Shit, what about people like me who identify as black people? I'm sick of people misracing me as white and I've felt like I was black since age 19 or theteabouts, so yeah, I guess I just gotta move to Evanston right?

Evanston redistributes weed money to blacks, who then use it to buy weed in Evanston

So this is more like they are just putting money into the community (admittedly, the parts where Blacks live or work) rather than what most people think of when they hear respirations?

It's pretty funny that Evanston, where you couldn't buy booze for 100 years, is hopping right on the weed train.

“Despite the fact that I was born and raised here, and I live here, and I’m raising my kids here, I could not afford to buy here,” Walker said.

Walker believes she has the necessary ingredients to get ahead.

“I’m educated not just enough to get my position – I have two masters degrees,” she said.

But Walker fells being black and living in Evanston made getting over the financial hump difficult.

“What about people who don’t? So they can’t live here as homeowners? They have to rent forever? That’s discouraging, and it’s angering, and it should anger everyone if you believe in equity,” Walker said.

I am guessing my dead parents would disagree with the notion that Expensive Evanston is an issue peculiar only to balcks. They moved out in 1992 because the taxes got too high. And neither one of them held a masters degree.

I've already registered "The Purple Kush Line."

That was only the Burger King across the street from NU.

Sunday dinner... or 3am munchies. Don’t recall the bag law.

Yeah, you had to bag your own food back in the 80s. I don't remember when they did away with that law.

Eh.. it’s been a long time, it’s possible we bagged in mid 90’s but I often just ate there if memory serves (and it doesn’t, it’s been 25 years).

If I remember the story correctly, BK arrived at a point where Evanston didn't allow fast food downtown. So by not bagging the food, they could get in under the same permit as the diners. And since the diners allowed you to take your leftover food with you, so could BK.

But this is going on 35 years for me, so I'm sure I got part of the story wrong.
