Does he have any options left?

Another piece for the Iowa Shuttle.

Theo is just keeping him away from the Brewers where their GM picks up DFA shit and turns it to gold for 1 season.

For whatever reason, after you copy the link to tweet and paste it here, you have to delete the "?" and everything to the right. It's always 5 back spaces for me.

Click the down arrow in the upper right hand of the tweet you want to copy. Choose the embed tweet option. Then in the blue upper part of the next screen (What would you like to embed?), copy the link in the box underneath that.

When I click that down arrow the first option is "copy link to tweet"...you click that and then paste it between [tweet][/tweet]...then delete the "?" And anything after it. Done.

Sorry, forgot to mention, this is from my Android phone. I think it's the same on my computer.

$26B doesn't seem like a lot of money for an enterprise of that sort, given that Ricketts could probably sell the Cubs tomorrow for $3B if MLB didn't interfere in who the buyer ended up being.

So I think it's going to go the other way - more "austerity."

Yep, Schwab destroyed TD a few months ago by eliminating commissions on stock trades. Commissions made up only 7% of Schwab’s revenue, but over one third of TD’s revenue. So after TD was decimated by the move (since they had to match Schwab by lowering comm to zero), their stock took a major hit and Schwab put in an offer to buy. TD lost about $6 billion on the whole thing. Ricketts will not be opening the purse strings.

I'm sure that's the way they will take it, but saying they "lost $6bil" is not really accurate. They profited less...they didn't lose anything.

I was referring to the market cap/stock price of TD going down about $6B (from around $31B to $25B).

Theo will leave such a mess when he departs the Cubs will be a 70-80 win team well into the mid 2020s or longer.

A two or three year drop to the 75 win mark was pretty much always expected as part of Theo's departure. If they had won a second WS, nobody would have minded.

I'm a believer in the similarity between the playoff progression of the 83-90 Bears and the 14-21 Cubs. If I'm right, the down seasons are coming soon, and the Cubs will be massive traders this July.

Now contemplating trading guys like Bryant to offset miserable drafting, trades and free agents is a worst case nightmare scenario that could of been avoided. Sustained excellence now seems a silly pipedream knowing Theo's basically a snake oil salesman. This off-season he said he was going to look outside the organization. What's he do? Shuffles the deck from within.

Interesting, slick move by Schwab. I hate Ricketts so I like the play.

The stock has rebounded from all the losses since then and is nearly at the 1 year high.

How soon for Julie’s grave dancing? Will she be back on the Theo bandwagon or did he wait too long?

I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back on a NRI. I wouldn't bet even money on it, but nobody else is going to put him on the 40 man before spring training. But I could also see him going to play in Korea and looking for fresh submissive pussy over there.
