By coincidence, my wife had a party with a medium (or whatever they are called) that our neighbor knew about 3 weeks ago.

I tapped out before anyone came and went to the Noisewater Podcast Studios to drink and watch some SNL reruns. I've always been fascinated by this and have watched many shows analyzing how people unwittingly give too much information that gets repeated back to them as a "reading".

So, when my wife texted me not to come upstairs because she was starting with the women that were up there. I couldn't help myself and went up to listen to my wife's reading. It was pretty good. I had assumed since they had been chatting for 2 hours that Mrs. Dr. Ken had revealed enough info that the person could find a path to her details. The two I heard her do were about seeing "Family".

At the end of the night, they asked if I wanted to do it. I said sure. I was curious. I had never met this person. She had never heard me talk about anything so I was interested what she might say about my family.

She immediately said "What I see about you is work". OK, that's a pretty generic thing to say. I was pretty committed to yes or no answers. Work has been insane for me but, whatever. Then she described my exact department situation in precise detail. Freaked me out. Number of people, the way they dress, how old they were, what their career goals were and what that person looked like.

I still know it's a trick. But, it's a damn good one and I love magic.

Aren't you the guy who correctly predicted a tsunami and that Cliff Alexander would pick up and then throw down an Illini cap? Maybe you're a medium and you don't even realize it.

Dr also 'predicted' the Cubs would have like a .610 win percentage in the second half of 2017. He almost nailed the exact record. Wasn't he just like a game or two off?

They lost the last game of the season (which by coincidence I was at) that would have made my prediction of 50 wins correct. They ended with 49.

Sergio wins The Masters, Super Bowls, there are many I've gotten right over the years, David Fales, but I've never "seen" that the 30-year-old guy that just got married and works for me with a large nose and wavy hair wants to change his career path from what he is on to IT - which was 100% correct.

I don't really believe in psychics, but I do believe in mediums and ghosts/spirits or something like that.

I'm going to say it was LinkedIn snooping.

i played with a kid across the street who's dad was a "psychic". he made a crap ton of money doing it. would get hired by people looking for missing people, and all that other type of crap. This was in the mid 90's pre internet.

A few years ago, he was at his parents house when I was stopping off at my parents house we saw each other and I went over there and we just started talking. His dad had gone to school to be a mortician initially and that was his current profession. I asked about being a psychic and he said it was all about manipulation. He said people give you all the info you need and you turn it around back on them. Its all about statistics, probabilites, and a quick reading of a person.

I saw a documentary about The Amazing Randi a few years ago. It was really well done, but Randi is a good guy to listen to if you ever start to get the inkling that a Psychic has some actual ability.

My wife and daughter just got back from meeting with a guy from Chicago. The things he specifically said were pretty impressive.

I've always believed in them.

I'm going to give you a prescription of watching all of the James Randi content on Youtube. Try that tonight and call me in the morning

I'd say 99% of them are con artists, that one percent has a definite ability though. There have been thousands of cases solved with a psychic - medium giving up huge leads in cold cases.

How come that 1% never stepped up and claimed that cool million dollar reward then?
