What's everyone's opinion?

My wife and son just got back from meeting with a guy from Chicago. The things he specifically said were pretty impressive.

I've always believed in them.

Show me where in the Bible God invented physics! Until then, I won't believe in them.

Pluto is the best planet and the worst member of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

There's a certain, powerful sect within Catholicism that contends that Christ was an alien who came to show us how to fight the devil with math and science. The documentary Prince of Darkness does a nice job with this.

One time I took a pair of binoculars and stared at the sun for over an hour. That's why my friends call me Whiskers.

I don't really understand physics and am often befuddled by the way things work. Sometimes this causes me to break things.

If the "intelligent community" says it's so, JORR considers it fake news!

Physics is costing me about $100-150k.

There better be some ROI for old people Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Ken.

No no. You missed the point. No one should believe in physics for christs sake.

$150k in Kenilworth? A mere bag of shells.

That's what I told my high school counselor.

It’s a shell game alright.

I think I told the story here that I took physics 101 because I am fascinated by the subject but have no real ability for advanced work in it. I was lucky to have studied under a guy who was a catholic brother with advanced degrees from Harvard and MIT. He would eventually move on to head up the Vatican observatory. Somehow, for that one brief moment, he was teaching a 100 level class to a spaz like me. He was brilliant, quirky, funny and could explain difficult concepts very plainly, like a less arrogant Neil DeGrasse Tyson. He looked like Dr. Demento.

Anyway, the class was as great as I had hoped. I learned a lot about a little.

It really is fascinating. I think the line of demarcation for most in not going forward with it is really the math not the physics.

I also had a great physics teacher. Guy by the name of Gerz. He worked at Fermilab full time and worked at SHS part time. Brilliant man. He casually mentioned that he had invented and patented a superconductor the summer before my fall semester with him. He helped me build my newtonian telescope in time for shoemaker levy 9. He wasn't great at bringing the explanation down to what most could gather but he was teaching AP classes so I guess that's fine.

In case I haven't told you before about your astronomy you do cool stuff. And all this time you hold back you made a telescope.

I never found that particularly interesting enough to share I guess.
Thanks. I'm glad people appreciate occasional astronomy tidbits. That's cool.

Demented is a funny and undervalued word.

Can't get too much into details, but I know a guy...in the game...it's a given that the space time continumem will be solved in 20-25 years and we will be able to travel faster than the speed of light + time travel. Essentially we are going to "bend" space time

Yo mate, we all bend space/time. It's called gravity yo. Check up on gravitational lensing dude! Wooooooooo

What I mean, is that using gravity drive, these ships will build an artifcial "black hole" to bridge two points in space time. That's the cliff notes of it, as I have been told

That would require more energy than mankind has used since we crawled from the swamp.
