If the Bears beat Dallas on Thursday night, honestly they are in the drivers seat for the 6th playoff spot. They win out, and its theirs. Doesn't matter what anyone else does at that point.

The Bears could even lose to the Pack or KC and still make it if the beat Minnesota in week 17. The NFC Wild Cards are going to come from the West and the North. Two teams from the South and East is not happening.
 You might want to check your math again Frank. In addition to the Rams as FF noted, The Bears are 2 losses behind the Vikings. Winning out does not assure anything and they are most certainly not in the driver's seat.

The Packers are going to beat the Vikings and lock up the division.

Vikings still have San Diego and Detroit on their schedule. Bears need to win out. Actually think 8-8 would be a good finish for the Bears, given the rest of the schedule.

I don't think it's likely but that's at least a reasonable thought. Your previous statement seemed strangely off the mark however.

But regardless of all that, should the Bears miss the playoffs (and I believe they will miss FWIW), the blame can be placed squarely on the loss to the Packers in week one, and the myriad of blown chances to beat the Chargers. They win one of those two games, and things look a whole lot different for the Bears right meow.

The chances are about 5%, I'd say. Maybe 538 has published some playoff percentages.

The odds may have changed after this weekend of games but I know ESPN's FPI or whatever it's called had the Bears raising their playoff odds from 3% to 4% after the win on Thanksgiving.

538 has the Bears playoff chances at 3% following the Vikings loss. This is truly shaping up to be a Trumpian run for the Bears!

That is more than a worry. It is the major part of the pipe dream.

The Bears have probably caught the attention of the Vikings and they'll be looking on Thursday. It would help the pipe dream if the Bears could make a big impression and make the Vikings start looking in the rear view mirror.

Kirk Cousins will take the industrial Midwest for granted and throw three picks against Detroit while pointlessly running up the score against the Chargers.

I'm not sure if FF is trolling or serious, or a bit of both. But he seems to be the only one who doesn't own a podcast dedicated to a mediocre 90s QB who thought this was possible. Kudos to him.

Run The Table has more of a ring to it than Win The Next 4 Of 5

They don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Bears still win out, miss playoffs, but management is reinvigorated with enthusiasm for Nagy and Trubinsky's success.

ouch, now the ram and vikings both need to lose 2 of their final 3.... and oh yeah the bear has to beat @packer, @viking, and the team that just won in foxboro (KC)

good thing dipshit thought we'd lose 4 yards running the ball to setup FG vs. SD... didnt stop the niners from running today to setup gould 5 yards closer

With the Chargers doing their annual "we're out of the playoffs? Cool, let's start playing like we mean it" routine decent chance the Vikings lose their next 2 headed into the final game vs the Bears. Even if the Vikings split their next 2, that puts them at 10 wins going into the final week. Rams split Cowboys/49ers and sitting at 9 wins with the Cardinals their final game. Bears could be in a spot to play spoiler for the Vikings playoff hopes. If Rams and Vikings both end up with the same record (10-6) Rams own the tiebreaker vs Minnesota. Rams also have the tiebreaker vs Bears. Bears would have the tiebreaker over the Vikings with another win against Minnesota. Things look good for the Rams. NFC West gonna have 3 teams in the playoffs.

KC is the best team they play. The Packers are very beatable even @Lambeau and I still don't trust Kirk Cousins. Plus the Bears have beaten the Vikings three straight games now.

True, they really are awful.

However the Rams and the Packers losses are the ones to lament. The Chargers too, but losing to an AFC team isn't going to make much difference the way the NFC is shaking out.

Your boy Mitch completed 48% of his passes for 120 yards.

That was back was Nagy was handcuffing Mitch.

Nagy refused to play starters in pre-season games at risk of his team not being ready to play in opening game, and they were not only not ready for opener, it took the offense over half the season to find any sense of success. Bad decision by an arrogant young coach (cue Wayne Larrivee). Hopefully Nagy and Pace have learned, another bad start next year and one of them likely get launched.

Also flying in late to London was another game they pissed away.
