I gave up all sugary drinks about 2 months ago and have gone 100% water during that time (with an occasional weekend beer), and after an initial craving for McDonald's Coke i have completely adjusted to it. I have lost quite a few pounds just with this one simple change as well. Ice water works just fine for me and I am glad to have broken free from the grip Coca Cola had on me there for a while.

Nice job. It's been five or six years for me. Water tastes fantastic with any meal.

I also made the mistake of drinking a lot of sports drinks. those definitely have a place as far as replenishing after exercise but are NOT a healthy, tasty alternative to water. Even (especially) the brands that market themselves as "zero sugar" are loaded with artificial sweeteners that have the same if not worse long-term effects on your health than the sugar they are replacing. I read some studies about the affects drinking large amounts of those drinks can have on your liver and it was enough to make me pull the plug on that habit too.

Water coffee tea beer whiskey

In some order each day.

Black coffee, water, and unsweet iced tea (Pure Leaf) daily.
