At the end of the day I think the consensus among MANY fans will be it was a bad idea to have no plan for a trilogy when they decided to make the trilogy.

Fanboys are terrible, too. The vocal ones are the same ones that are all pissed off because the discombobulated Expanded Universe was removed from canon. Boo fucking hoo.

But I'll own the fact that I'm a Star Wars nerd that saw the positives in, and enjoyed The Last Jedi. I thought it was fine...other than SuperLeia. I also see the positives in The Phantom Menace, though.

I'm sure I'll like this, because, Star Wars.

The EU is something I haven’t really gotten into, but it seems like there was already a built in fan base which was younger in age than you or me. It prolly would have been a smart move to at least include a few of those characters in this trilogy somehow.

Your ability to still love this flawed trilogy is respected by me. God knows I’m going to end up watching every Marvel/DC movie I can, regardless of quality, until the day I die.

Ohhhhh, ok. I thought that the Baby Yoda was in this movie, but someone informed me a few days ago that that was in a series. Anyway, that must be a hard audience to please.

I can both like and dislike a movie when it comes to these. Because it's Star Wars there are going to be things I like just based on nostalgia alone. But at the same time I'm afraid I will be disappointed with the story telling.
