I had 48 of explosive diarrhea in Galena. Pass on the shepherds pie.

You can get some good deals on last minute cruises if you can find the right airfare.

The exciting metropolis that is West Lafayette? Make it a family history trip.

Depending on how old your kids are and where they've been already. I'd say some place warm....with water park / amusement park....and has an NHL hockey team with a home game to see.

We should put together a "Blighted Illinois town or The Lord of the Rings location" quiz.

I don't think I've ever set foot in Jesse Oaks.

been to Jesse Oaks many times. Sitting outside in their patio is fine, but food is meh. Draft beer is meh. Way more entertainment outdoors to be had at Chain bars like Captain's Quarters, Famous Freddie's, Cabanas, and dare I say it....Blarney.

Non-summer.....it's the Fogcutter for food or Light the Lamp for beer. Honorable mention to Tighthead....definitely going back there.

I like the breakfast at Jesse Oaks. I don't think we've ever had any food there otherwise. I drink bottled beer at dive bars mostly. they never clean the beer lines and you can taste it. Emil's in Grayslake has this problem periodically as well.

I want to check out No Wake Bar & Grill and Broken Oar in Lake Barrington. Fogcutter is awesome. We love that place.

I'm at the Fog once a week....used to be even more  They catered our wedding....and it was awesome.

Broken Oar is fun....we rarely go through the locks on the boat and the last time we tried going there by boat....couldn't even dock due to Bella Cain filling the place and then some.
