Statiscally whites and Asians have the highest rates of intermarriage. There are technically only three races, but I suppose if a white American marries someone who is technically a different form of Caucasian it is considered to be an interracial marriage. Some of those intermarriage examples are more ethnically different than racially different.

The issue of your spouse speaking a different language and/or being part of a different religion as being a much bigger issue than the physical/ethnic differences.

There are also other difference such as politics, socio-economic status and age. Even between 2 people that look alike those can be an issue.

There are lot of younger highly educated women in their 20s and early 30s who make more money than most men in their age group, but they still want to marry a guy who makes more than they do. Unfortunately with that situation the marriage pool for them has statistically shrunk.

When I was living in the Jewish part of west Wilmette, the progression was Rogers Park, Skokie, west Wilmette, Northbrook/Deerfield, Highland Park (so they could go to the synagogue on the lake). Northfield was if your parents couldn't quite afford Wilmette, and Morton Grove wasn't spoken about.

No person in my family had ever married outside of polish ethnicity for the entire existence of our noble name. The same is true for my wife but with Irish. I'd say my family was more accepting. Her father told polish jokes openly around me.

Been together for 16 years and never has race been an issue. Only time I noticed it was when we visited her Grandma in the East side of Chicago and they sent us to the corner for cigarettes. She said, if you stay with me you won't have an issue walking the streets
