If you look entirely at that stat and not the game then yeah that looks bad. If you actually watched the game and you see 90 screen passes called (they haven't worked all season) and those screen passes go for a short gain or they actually lose yards. At that point you'll understand why his ypa was that low.

A star QB who was taken #2 in the draft would be a man and call his own plays if he didn't like the ones called by a novice coach.

The screen passes were/are stupid but in fairness to Nagy the offensive line wasn't trying to block anyone. Maybe if Nagy moves the pocket they have a chance. After Miller was injured I don't think he had a plan for anyone else running a somewhat deep route.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is awesome when there are no stakes at all. He'd be a great hockey player for the Panthers or Coyotes.

Trubinsky will be a classic Brown.

Maybe at tight end.

You watch for the sole reason to defend a quarterback who sucks. At least Cutler had some Talent. Mitch is terrible. And for you to defend him at all at this stage of the game is absolutely atrocious as a fan. You should turn in your Bears fan card right now.

This post is completely stupid. You've made up your mind that he sucks because everyone else told you to think that. Despite him playing poorly in only 1 of the last 6 or 7 games. You should be a smarter fan or just stop watching.

All of your Bears posts today are completely stupid. Ive made up my mind that he sucks because I watched the games. He did exactly Jack and shit early in the year when it mattered. When their playoff chances were down to about 5%, he managed to have decent games against the Lions, Giants, and Vikings backups.

Im glad Im not like you and have the ability to actually call it as I see it with my team.

I actually think he's a better player with pressure. Even his best stretch of the season came with the season on the line. Then he wet the bed against the Chiefs when there was nothing to play for. I would prefer that sense of urgency and focus that he has during a last drive or when the season is on the line in every game.

It seems as if he does well in two minute pressure situations. Not sure if the stats back that up or not. The rest of the game he sucks.

Yes, you made up your mind in Week 8 and NOTHING you saw was going to change that. You and Nagy have a lot in common.

I've called it like I've seen it. Just because I'm not irrational when it comes to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky doesn't change that. It was me who pointed out the issues with Nagy early on and then the last quarter of the season MANY of you all came around. Same with the defense late in games.

Right now he is an average qb. To say he sucks is idiotic. Upgrade the o-line and stop the terrible behind the line of scrimmage passes. The whole team took a step back this year.

Mitch just needs a change of scenery. I can see him thriving for another team similar to Tannehill

When do you chowderheads stop making excuses for Mitch and demand he play better?

There are MANY issues with the Bears. QB is perhaps the biggest.

Just because we aren't saying that he's the worst QB ever doesn't mean that we don't think that he can get better. You should read more.

So who gets fired in the "blame coordinators/position coaches kangaroo court"? Hiestand? Helfrich? I think Pagano could be on the hot seat.

Hiestand will be fired and he clearly should be. Olin Kreutz appears to be making a case that Nagy's play calling was responsible. I don't think that explains why everyone except Whitehair regressed or when you watch a game you routinely see all of them miss simple assignments. Everyone else is probably back unless they have better options.

It is a joke of a job if Nagy is still calling plays. You won't find quality candidates that want it.

With some time to reflect maybe he grows as well. If not hopefully he becomes Belichick of the offense.

For the record I was fully expecting to see mitch benched after halftime.

Does Helfrich even do anything? He would make for an amusing scapegoat.

Am I alone in thinking it was criminal to kick any field goals yesterday?

You have nothing to lose. Go for it.

That is Nagy logic though, kick the field goal in meaningless spots but avoid it in critical games where every point is dear.

In the same vein, I was thinking it was stupid to keep throwing those screen passes.
