Nagy is far and away number one. It's not even close to number two, really.

Of the players Charles Leno Jr. was the worst starter by a serious margin. Maybe one of the worst in the league. The amount of drives he killed with his stupid penalties and how horrible he was in the run game contributed to just as many losses as Bad Mitch did, and unlike (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky there was no late season redemption arc for Leno Jr.

I also think the Oakland game broke them for the middle third of the season and that playing in London contributed to their pathetic performance in that game. Now that's on Nagy for not having them prepared for the time zone change, but if they win that game I bet they also win the Chargers game and with the added heat the Kirk Cousins Vikings probably would've folded and the Bears would've had the six seed wrapped.

But again, the chief person to blame for that mid-season collapse is Matt Nagy.

He played better the 2nd half of the season but far too often he was running like he was in college earlier in the year. Too much dancing.

How does anyone have any idea on Montgomery? The Coach had no idea how to use him.

Those of you who are blaming Pace so much, more than anybody actually on the field, I'm curious as to why. I think overall he has done a pretty good job as general manager.

Send him to Philadelphia to see how good he is.

He picked Mitch number 2 overall and traded picks to do it.

That pick has to be a superstar QB.

Mitch isn't.

He hired Nagy.
He drafted (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.
He put together the O line.
He waaay overdrafted Shaheen.
Leonard Floyd.

He assembled a good defense. That's about all he has to go on. Other than Allen Robinson

This is fair. There were times when I couldn't decide if it was him or the offensive line and coach. Mark Schlereth is a former offensive lineman but it appeared that someone (Possibly Nagy)fed him some talking points because he spent the entire game ripping the offensive line.

Aside from Mahomes there has not been a superstar quarterback drafted since Russell Wilson almost ten years ago. This is a complain you have to make for virtually every general manager in the league, yet Pace is very unfairly singled out for it.

I'm done blaming management for guys not doing their job. Its not Pace's fault Nagy sucks or Mitch has underperformed.

Pace is at fault because:
1. Hired the idiot coach
2. Drafted the bad QB
3. Assembled the expensive and bad offensive line (zero depth)
4. No TEs
5. One WR (free agent) with rest being average or bad
6. RBs are bad
7. Wastes draft picks through bad selections or unnecessary trades

Don't forget Nagy not going for a closer game winning field goal. You never know what happens if they have better odds to make the playoffs.

He put together a great defense and turned a shit roster around but he has missed A LOT on offense and possibly the play caller.

That's his signature pick and it's a failure so far.

Its fair to judge him solely on Mitch's performances IMO.

As an aside, I was rereading that draft thread earlier and everyone went nuts when Kansas City gave up 2 first round picks to get Mahomes. Some idiot even said that it made the Bears trade look better by comparison.

Maybe they can't do their job because they aren't competent NFL players. And that's on the guy who brought them in.

Can you blame management for hiring guys who cannot do the job of being NFL caliber players?

Bear fans, by overrating this team, first by accepting the goofy thoughts that preseason didn't matter and then deluding themselves when they went on the early bum of the week part of the schedule.

And then the lack of talent and playcalling ability on offense that everyone else saw.

Woah doucherton, none of us thought the preseason didn't matter.

1. The faults which have sunk Nagy could not have been apparent at the beginning. Nagy's stubborn refusal to adapt is not Pace's fault, its Nagy's.
2. The QB is not as bad as people think he is.
3. Leno and Massie were mistakes, no doubt. They both suck and they both get extended or brought back for the wrong reasons.
4. I dont know how you can foresee what happened to Burton. Seriously.
5. Miller is clearly a good WR and Robinson is an outright stud. I like Wims a lot and I am curious to see how Ridley comes along. Gabriel was good until the head injuries piled up, which again is not something you can reasonably predict or fault Pace for.
6. Not bad, just misued.
7. He drafts better than most of the league by any objective metric.
