The house we moved into earlier this year came with an old hot tub. It was winterized and in decent shape...but needed some work. Finally got all the parts together, replaced the heater, replaced a couple cracked ball valves, etc.

Filled it up last night and fired it up. Checked on it this morning and it's down about 8"...I can see water leaking out a drain in the enclosure, but not where it's actually leaking from.

What a pain in the ass.

Yeah, likely my own fault. I filled it and drained it back in the summer without re-winterizing it. My guess is that led to the cracked ball valves and this new, undiagnosed leak.

Pump #2 had a little primer line running to it that wasn't bypass-able. I removed it and capped it...seems to have solved it...for the time being.

Just finished up down at the Lake Bluff beach. Did 5 minute immersion followed by a dive under. Currently wearing shorts t-shirt and Crocks.

Spending a significant portion of the rest of today in the hot tub.

Probably had 30 people go in the water.
