So I am taking some customers to RAW on Monday. I have never been to a wrasslin event before. One of the guys is going the night before the Survivor series too. What should I expect? I watched growing up but obviously I am not very up on it now. I hear Chicago after a PPV event is usually a great show? Chicago is bizzaro world or something like that and the RAW after a PPV is supposed to be “special”? Tell me what I am getting into! Is this going to be awesome?

Raw is Awful.

Take them to the AEW show next Wednesday instead.

Going to be a lot of families there, so it shouldn't too wild in the crowd. It's a very long show; almost 4 hours (3 tv hours + dark matches).

If you and your customers lack testosterone, then AEW is the show for you.

Ok that was interesting. After the show they did a cage match between Drew and the Fiend. It wasn’t a real match really was that just because the fried was really unhappy with the ending tonight?

When was the last time they ran a pay-per-view and the next night's Raw at the same arena? I know they always did MSG/Nassau/Meadowlands in a row, but that's three venues in one market. Usually it was Rosemont one night and Milwaukee the next.

What's really inneresting is they did four shows in four days in the same town at the same place - Smackdown, NXT, PPV, & Raw.

That's been the new model since Wrestlemania a couple of years ago. Been a thing for the big 4 shows. It had been Takeover/PPV/Raw/Smackdown, but with Smackdown's move to Friday, that's the new lead off show for the weekend.

Going to change anyway with them separating the Takeover shows, I guess.

AEW is more like a tumbling or gymnastics than wrasslin'. When they do the highly choreographed dives which seem to be mandatory for all matches, it would seem that the crowd should hold up scores like they do during the NBA dunk contest or used to do at the Olympics to give each participant a score for creativity, degree of difficulty, and technique. What is meant to be a spectacular part in the match ends up being a time waster because both the originator of the dive and the recipient both need to sell the move by laying on the floor outside the ring for a minute or two. It was much more believable and effective to have Ric Flair slap a side headlock on Steamboat when they both needed a break during the match.

so weird, caught some RAW tonight with no crowd. So weird.

You can actually now hear what the guys are saying to each other.

But somehow it works. It was funny.
