I bought 2 oz.s in Trindidad, Co. on my way out here to Yuma. Can only buy one ounce per day but Trinidad has about 15 shops.
1st oz cost me $70. Not big buds but small 'shake' buds. Second store was about $75 for same. Includes tax.

The really top shelf stuff in Trinidad was $180 an ounce.

This year I smoked it at a rate of about one joint per hour and a half just for the hell of it. All gone in under 2 months smoking my leetle joints mixed with tobacco.
Now I'm clean again.

Half of these stores are in strip malls that used to be Mattress Firms dumbass. These are not bank vaults/safes..they can be cracked.

Prior to Jan 1, the Mundelein clinic was cash only. Word was that CC and Debit cards not allowed as that's likely going interstate commerce and weed is still illegal by federal law....something to that extent.

I think you're using the word' "drought" incorrectly. To us lifelong weed smokers, a drought means that there was a bad harvest and not enough weed was grown that season. Used to happen just about every year before the fall harvest.

The article doesn't mention anything about a drought in that sense. Article is about the lack of supply which is due entirely to the horrific recreational program rolled out by Illinois on Jan 1. Dispensaries are only allowed to buy product that was grown in Illinois. Licenses for new cultivators, dispensaries and processing plants only went into affect on Jan 1. Going to take several months for the newly licensed providers to grow, harvest, process and ship new product.

Also, only current medical dispensaries were allowed to sell weed on Jan 1. Those dispensaries were all allowed to open 1 additional store in anticipation of Jan 1. I don't know if any of them did. As it stands there are something like 20 dispensaries in Illinois with those 20 allowed to open more more for a grand total of 40. That's assuming they all opened a second store which they all didn't. So that means the State was basically saying that they expect demand to double on Jan 1 which is ludicrous. Even a layperson can easily estimate an increase in demand by 20x with recreational coming on board.

I've been telling everyone since mid summer that this was going to be mess for many months once Jan 1 hits. I even predicted that within a week of Jan 1 we would start to see cheeky news stories such as "weed is now legal, but is it even harder to get now?" and crap like that.

I hope you regular smokers stocked up or at least kept in touch with your dealer cause it's gonna be a mess for a long time.

That averages to about 57K in transactions(ALL CASH) at each site.
Basically all these local dispensaries have the cash on hand of a bank. (and this doesn't include on-site ATMs)

This was my thought. An 8th should last me a while. I was going to probably buy a hitter box and maybe a bowl and make it last. Maybe have some and then drink a few beers for a good time. Not going to be pulling tubes with it or smoking everyday. I dintt try have any other way to really get any and of course still illegal up here.
