Just finished it. It got better as the storyline became clearer. I am going to rewatch it. Still confused about a few characters.

That's an opinion you're allowed to have.

I think everyone understood there were multiple timelines once they got to Episode 2 or 3, and I don't think understanding the exact order of every scene changes how one can digest Season 1 in any way.

Did a viewer catch that the Ciri scenes were 'present day' and that the Cintra scenes with Geralt and Dandelion were sometime in the past by the time that Duny episode ended? Yes? Good. Did the viewer catch that Witchers and Sorceresses age differently? Yes?

Then you're good.

I don’t think it was difficult to figure out the timelines and I am not familiar with the source material at all. Series seems fine, I’ll watch the second season when it comes out.

The show is 10 times better the second time through. I probably missed over half of the stuff on the first watch. It is a very solid show, and now everything makes sense. I also fell in love with Geralt second time through. He is subtly funny and entertaining.

Now get yourself a PS4 Pro and Witcher 3.

I still just play CoC and LoL. But my son said he wants Witcher for the Switch, and his 18th bday is later this month.

The show is really good. Glad I stuck with it.

Deni$ can wait for the PS5 later this year with backwards compatibility.

The wife put this on and I spaced out the first time through after 20 minutes. This thread pushed me to start over and I’m through 4 episodes now and I’m in now.

Watching the first few episodes twice made it easier to follow.

Hah, haven’t played console games in years. But we will and do have them all. I stick to Mac compatible games, which meant WoW and now LoL. But I have my Arcade Legends machine for classic games like Bubble Bobble, Ten Yard Fight, Street Fighter 2 and Burger Time. Always been a gamer.

Dennis can get the PS4 Pro now, the PS5 next year, and an Alienware PC with an RTX 2080.

Nah kind of deciding between the RS5 Sportback or wait for the new M3’s. The only issue is that the M3’s will only have manual option with the RWD setup. The AWD version is auto only, and of course all Audi’s are auto only now. So sad.

MK8 GTI and Golf R will be out in 12-18 months.

Witcher and hatchback / sportback talk. This is my favorite thread of 2020.

Hell yeah, strangely we have always had a lot of common interests. Must be something about going to the same high school and being on the fast track.

Netflix says the show was its biggest debut. There’s a WSJ article on the topic, which matches up with my confused and ultimately enjoyable experience. WSJ stuff is behind a pay wall, but here is the company’s own comments on the matter.

“ During December, we also launched The Witcher, which is tracking to be our biggest season one TV series ever. Through its first four weeks of release, 76m member households chose to watch this action-packed fantasy, starring Henry Cavill. As a testament to how our hit content can penetrate the global zeitgeist and influence popular culture, the show’s launch drove up sales of The Witcher books and games around the world, and spawned a viral musical hit.”

just started this over the weekend, 2 eps in. Like it a lot so far. I never read the books, but did spend a solid 9 months playing W3, but that was a couple years ago. I think it helps in taht I know who the main 3 characters are. Also remember some of the side characters, but don't remember names so can only vaguely place them.

Like the Bard in ep 2. I assume that is Dandelion?

Yes. Dandelion was Jaskier in the original books. They fail to even name the character for the first episode or two, if I recall.

3 episodes in and I'm liking it. A little GoT, LOTR, and a hint of Supernatural.

Cavill is outstanding and owns every scene he's in.
