I asked for my wife's hand in marriage as well. My FIL kinda sorta told me the same thing. Asked if I was sure because, "I was gonna catch hell from that little girl."

He wasn't wrong, but we haven't seen him in six years and I see her everyday so...

Similar to my B-I-L asking my Dad for permission to marry my sister.
"pfft....If you really want to!"

For as much criticism and jokes lawyers get....I can say the limited time I've spent in courtrooms it seems like a miserable profession that I'd never want any part of it.

Those that ascend to the bench and serve as judges. It's amazing the idiocy they have to encounter on a daily basis. The 3 judges I've witnessed....all 3 of them sat there with patience, professionalism, and restraint where I'm sure they simply wanted to scream at people "What the fuck is wrong with you!".

Judge Michael P. Toomin screamed at me in open court when I was a teenager. Later on I found out he stole a police car when he was a teen. That's way worse than what I was in front of him for. But I guess he wanted to put me on the right path.

He and i got into a heated discussion one fine class day. I don't really remember why it got heated, but I always liked the man, especially when he took a moment and smirked at me in a routine hearing he was covering for another judge.

Agree bigly. One guy was in there getting snippy with the bailiff because he refused to get an attorney for his dui case. I kept thinking to myself 'dude, he's trying to help you. Nobody tries dui cases alone'. But they got kept getting mad.

My last judge (Lake County) was Joe Salvi...the same one that dipshit Kash Jackson tried battling. I was there proactively getting proper child support set. While waiting for my case to be called....an attorney was there for her own case (representing herself) trying to keep her ex from taking the kids on a flight during his scheduled visitation.

The judge showed incredible restraint by saying "I'm sorry you don't agree with his visitation plans. He's within his rights.

I didn't necessarily agree with how he ruled on my case but I certainly found him to be very genuine and serving the best interests of the law. Kash Jackson....My God I would have loved to have been in the courtroom the day that dope got his ass handed to him.

Peanut butter whiskey is not that good. I've had two different kinds. One was bad, one was meh.

Ever try bacon infused Bourbon? They had it at a restaurant in downtown Little Rock. Apparently you mix bourbon with (smoked) bacon grease, then freeze it & separate the fat back out - leaving a smoky bacon infused whiskey. Although the waiter claimed it was very popular in an Old Fashioned, nobody at the table was particularly enthused.

Listening to my The Doors playlist.

Just watched Rambo: Last Blood - so brutal that I couldn't stop laughing. Great. The Bandit closed her eyes.

Revealing too much info about small-town Dr. Ken.

Avalanche Amber Ale tonight.

I wasn't expecting much, but it's surprisingly good. Flavorful and smooth.

8/10

I'm a bigfan of Ambers. This and Bell's are probably my favorites. Abita does a nice one as well, though it was better on tap in NO than in bottles here.

just had Woodford for the first time this weekend. I'm not much into Bourbon, but damn....that was pretty tasty.

Some Coors Banquet (not a bad session beer at 5%), and a couple Sam Adams New England IPA.

Went to Walgreen's to get some ZZQuil for the occasional, nightly insomnia that can happen to someone as busy and important as I am.

I usually grab the 24-pack of capsules. The directions clearly state that if you need to take them for more than 10 days, you should consult a doctor. But, I'm a doctor so I'm good.

However, I saw today that you can buy a bottle of 365 capsules which, I assume, is when you and 35 of your closest friends simultaneously have some insomnia issues.

Tito's. Rocks. Glass. Coaster.

Took Dr. Ken Jr. I back to school this morning. They live like vagrants. I was not the most fastidious apartment-dweller but I told him you can't live this way.

Post, if you are in the vicinity of some good Étouffée, I hate you.

I do have a tax conference later this year in New Orleans. Never been there, I don't think they will get me out of the restaurants.

Dr. Ken Jr. II likely qualified for state in a science competition today. To be held at...........UofI...
