I don't think the Petey files are necessary reading.

They were cool to kind of give an idea as to where the show was going next week, but nothing you need is there.

I think I only saw the majority of one episode. I really liked that episode. It was the one that told the story of Dr. Manhattan's relationship. I thought the creators did an excellent job in visually explaining how he experiences time and the concept that there is no past, present and future but that everything occurs all at once and is constantly occurring.
