Iran paid Jim Gray $40 to tweet about it.

Horrible news.

In downtown LA, building codes for a while required that all skyscrapers have helicopter pads on the roof in case of a disaster. Then they eventually actually asked the first responders who said that was a stupid idea.

As a result, DTLA has tons of idle skyscrapers helicopter pads, and there's even a company raising money to fly commuter routes from the far suburbs for like $100/trip if purchased by the month.

We'd never think of this in Chicago because the weather is too flakey.

I am SICK. The last and probably the only athlete I was a fanatic of from my childhood. Easily my favorite basketball player of all time. Really unfortunate. He seemed to have as much passion for being a father as he did being a player. I feel sorry for his family.

Reports are saying that his daughter was scheduled to play a game at his basketball complex today at noon.

I guess that is where they were headed.

I don't have a fear of flying, I feel much safer in the air than on the road, but those small planes and helicopters feel like the wild west in comparison. I went up in a helicopter once and that was enough.

Probably. At least unlike the local ABC News affiliate in LA that reported his whole family died in the crash, Gray and Fox aren't spreading rumors. Let's hope the news doesn't get worse as to who else died in the crash. There are still 2-3 unnamed victims, just a parent and a fellow player on the traveling team is all I've read.

I wonder if Jordan will play a year to get back to #4 on all time scoring list

Always liked the guy’s MJ level intensity.

He was involved in so many things after he retired.

This tweet is really bittersweet now.

His daughter's favorite player was Trae Young. They went to see him play and sit court side a couple times already this year. They would hang out after the game and take photos. That clip is from one of those games. Atlanta supposed to play today, I doubt Trae is in any sort of shape to do that.

I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled the rest of the games today.

I would expect a massive tribute at the All Star Game.

Damn. Crazy.

R.I.P. to a guy who did it right.

Looks like a bird or something hit the tail rotor and disabled it.
