Kobe's helicopter was owned by the state of IL before Rauner sold it.

By far the best idea for the all star game. Wearing 8s and 24s and then dogging it would be an embarrassment.

Same paint scheme, but I hope that isn't the same bird.

That might be interesting in any case... Do we get a real game this year out of respect to Kobe?

Even a helicopter wanted to move out of state.

It really doesn’t feel like that long ago I was in high school in my driveway trying to replicate his fadeaway and jab step jumper.

Always played as him in the NBA video games; avg 50 ppg with him in a season.

It's reminiscent of the cold afternoon of the Magic aids presser. Which we all thought was a death sentence at the time.

In 1996 as a freshman in high school I was telling everyone how great Kobe was going to be when everyone was fans of AI and others. They laughed and told me I was always trying to be different. I was wrong about being better than Jordan, but similar to Brady, I was on the right side of history in the end.

I love Chicago teams, so naturally I love the players. Kobe was the first player I rooted for who didn't wear a Chicago jersey. It's why I say that he was the first athlete that I was a true fan of. He's my all time favorite athlete and I doubt that will change now.

I was in an event when the news broke. I had my phone on silent. I didn't get a chance to look at my texts so I found out by clicking the FB chat link on my phone. I hoped that you all were joking. About an hour or so later it hit me and I was sick. Couldn't even watch the tributes with all of the people breaking down.

You're replicating jab step jumpers as a teen?

Of course. Maybe you didn’t play ball as a teenager but if you did I assume you were out there on the pavement trying to replicate the shots and moves you saw in the NBA. Duncan’s mid range bank shot was another favorite.

Oh I def was out there trying to replicate moves. I guess the light heartedness of my comment wasn't apparent. But what my friends and I were replicating was the flashy stuff - crossovers and whatnot, especially AI's. Are you a tall dude? I was PG

Tall guy (bout 6’4”) but I was lanky in HS and always played like a guard.

Was driving to a guys 16th birthday party in Elgin that day and remember sitting in the parking lot in that old Chevy celebrity and kinda being in shock. Then looking to my left and my buddy was sitting in his car with pretty much the exact same expression on his face.
