Bye Bye Nick! Sorry we couldn't bring you back! Sucks big time that he goes to Cinci. Was hoping TEX. The shit offseason continues...

Castellanos and Reds are now in agreement on deal. Big winter for Cincy.

So no trades so far, and we lose the most consistent hitter in the lineup.

Awesome.

Wishing, hoping, praying Ian Happ becomes a + WAR guy probably in CF as his glove is not up the the task at 2B at least on a regular basis.

The opt-out in Nicholas Castellanos' four-year, $64 million deal with the Cincinnati Reds is after the first season, sources tell ESPN.

You should be glad they haven't made a trade yet as the most likely trade would be to dump Bryant for a pile of shit.

whoever the cubs end of trading, is still going to net a set back for the immediate 2020 season. I would bet it help them down the road.
with the rotation and bullpen as it stands, this team is going to be lucky to get 80 wins this year. not trolling....I don't hate the Cubs, but they are definitely not as good for 2020 as they were.

It’s going to take a bunch of career years to just be competitive. The division got stronger, while the Cubs have taken steps back.

The problem is the Cubs aren't picking a lane now. They won a WS because they tanked, took the hits and got the assets. Now they are trying to be a middling 80-85 win team. You have to pick one or the other.

There’s still a lot of talent on this team. They clearly want to reset the payroll tax and probably hope a reworked CBA will allow them to spend more freely. I suspect this is a one year reset. But it’s a bad look all around and ill timed with the White Sox being ready to launch.

He's always been a doubles machine and in that ballpark, he's going to hit. Cinci looking tough. Cubs could easily finish 4th dropping to 75 victories. Just way to many questions marks.

Because they are going to be bad/mediocre, or because Marquee won't be available to everyone?

Cubs bullpen needed someone to reliably walk 2 opposing batters per appearance.
