An outpost for the Italian kids who couldn't pass the Fenwick entrance exam.

our parish sent a bunch of kids that way over the years.

last I checked Fenwick was recruiting door to door for anyone that could tie their shoes and pay the tuition.

I had never heard Fenwick described as a good school before coming to this board and encountering Seacrest.

Back in my day, I'd never heard of it once.

My old lady's alma mater. An Aquanet fog carried from Mother Guerin through the forest preserves and ended at the Thirsty Whale.

The whole point of living out there in the suburbs is to utilize the public schools, why pay those taxes then fork over 12k a year per kid for HS.

So those kids end up as a better adult than you are.

I don't think East Leyden HS is in the same category as Hinsdale Central or Neuqua Valley.

Sometimes the schools still suck. There's some beautiful houses that are reasonably cheap in Westchester, but if you have kids you have to add the cost of them going to St. Joes instead of Proviso, unless you're db.

Writing was on the wall for this to happen for some time. Recently they tried to build a football program with Glen Koslowski but had to fire him because he's a fucking lunatic. They consumed Holy Cross, who couldn't last because their campus was ridiculously small and most kids went to St. Pats instead, but never really expanded like they should have. Holy Cross and Guerin Prep made huge mistakes back in the 60's when they sold off most of the land they owned to condo developers.

Fenwick was really expensive, but you could always get the best parties and drugs from the River Forest kids.

Really? Look at some of the guys who went there. I think it's always been considered the third best CCL school behind the Jesuits schools.

Yeah, there's no denying Fenwick was one of the best Catholic schools in the area. Its not only the educational aspect but their sports are still some of the best. That said, Fenwick parties were the first time I saw cocaine and heroin. A lot of rich kids that were bored.

Pfft.

Fenwick was always one of those "other" schools.

Like Brother Rice or de Sales.

You went to Holy Cross, right?

I suppose Fenwick would seem like a good school from that perspective.
