IMU was a year early with this.

Close enough to count it, I say. I accidentally posted in the wrong subforum too.

So you are saying the White Sox are going to win the World Series in 2020??

I think they may finally avoid another losing season in 2020, but no way will they get to, much less win, a World Series. I still make the Twins the favorite in the division. Their players are proven at the major league level. The Sux have far too many question marks. There is certainly reason for optimism for 2020, but if they win 84-85 games, it would be a significant accomplishment. Is Giolito going to remain the good Giolito, or the starter with the worst ERA in the league? Will the outfield defense be he worst in the league and cost them games? Will Jimenez get injured yet again and miss a significant portion of the season? Will Anderson again lead all SS in errors and drop off offensively, back to his career averages? Is Robert ready for the majors? How about Madrigal? Are Keuchel and Gonzalez past their primes and only capable of .500 performances? Does the bullpen lack depth? Lots of questions

Pretty gutsy opinion to predict the White Sox won't win the World Series in 2020.

It's a division with just one team that looks like it could win 90 games. That team is the Twins and I'll take them to win the division. As bad as the Tigers and Royals should be and with the Indians taking a step back, there should be an opportunity for the Sux to contend for 2nd place. Appropriate that they play at Guaranteed 2nd rate park.

Did I say that? IMU said top World Series contributors. MANY players have had terrific World Series performances on the losing team.

I don't think that is the name of the park they play in.

Okay, so you are saying the White Sox will get to the World Series. Gulping that Kool-Aid I guess. Not gonna happen. They will not even win their division and will not get a wild card spot either. The defense at SS and the corner outfield spots will be a problem. Jimenez does have a checkered past with injuries that may well continue to be a problem. Some guys just can't stay healthy. I don't think they win more than 85 games. I think that represents a rather significant step for a team with 7 straight losing seasons though. Keuchel should give them a chance to win more often than not, but he is not the Cy Young Keuchel at this point and Gio on his what, 3rd go around now.....is a guy at the tail end of his career. I expect he will lose his spot in the rotation to Kopech before the All-Star break. But if he is .500 before that point, it will have been worthwhile. With your high expectations will come far greater disappointment in 2020.

Me gulping the kool aid is the exact opposite of you saying basically everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

The truth will likely end up being in the middle.
