Peoria has both high paying and strong middle class jobs for as long as Caterpillar remains.

My goal is to get to Tennesse in the next 10 years, but I don't want to take a pay cut in salary, my best bet will be probably get in a consulting gig that doesn't care where you live(as long as your near an airport).

Missouri and Wisconsin are the two states I’m looking at most right now. Wisconsin would be the easiest because my current job is roughly a half hour away from the border, and I’d also still be able to visit friends and family fairly easy. Missouri would mean a complete change for me and my girl tho, but that won’t stop me from considering it if it’s the best option.

I understand taxing a business selling something online but taxing everything including stuff that’d just be a private sale if it were face to face is absolute horse shit.

Your MO vs WI has some important factors to consider. You’re going to get a distinct difference i n climate especially if you choose to move relatively north in WI or relatively south in MO. The people are quite different as well as WI start getting that Canadian/Minnesota feel to them and MO starts to feel southern in culture.

My experience with mid-Missouri culture was that it was the worst of the South and Midwest mixed together. There's no Midwestern Nice or Southern hospitality, most people were just kind of reserved, grumpy, and kind of inarticulate. It's not like Wisconsin where strangers will strike up a conversation with you at the grocery store, nor was it like when I was in Memphis and a barista called me "sweetheart" and damn near melted me into a puddle. Wisconsinites are weird but endearingly so; I found rural Missourians to be a thoroughly dismal people.

I have MANY years of experience in trying to appreciate steaming piles of dogshit.
