Can you guys recommend a good, through, honest, body shop in the city?

Do NOT go to Buccaro Bros on Racine and Diversy. The guy tried to sell me muffler bearings. They don't exist. I have used the shell station on Halsted and Wrightwood for about 15 years, they are honest, fair priced, and he'll tell you if you can wait on making fixes, i.e. you can safely go another 10,000 miles before it needs to be fixed. They are also open on Sundays and they are relatively quick, I always get my estimate within a couple of hours. Okan is name, number is 773 327 6652......

I know it's not the city but, my mechanic also runs a body shop. We haven't used the body shop services, but as a mechanic, he has been both trustworthy and less expensive than anyone else in the Evanston area.

It's a Jewish-run shop so they're closed on Saturdays but open on Sundays.

We ended up taking, well, towing, it to a place on Elston called Lefty's. They have done some mechanical work on the car in the past and also have a body shop. If the quality of body work is comparable to mechanical, we should be alright. Thanks for suggestions, though. Hope I never have to use them again.

Anyone know a good place (or alley mechanic) that can put some brakes on for me? I knew an alley mechanic that hung out at the auto zone on 76th and Stony but I'm not in that area anymore.

If it's just the pads, do it yourself. If you need to resurface or replace rotors, take it to a real mechanic.
