Adult British actresses all playing teenage New Hampshire girls yet not one of them could bless us with a New England accent? Seemed pretty lazy for the director not to demand it. Then they would occasionally slip into their native accents. Annoying but didn't diminish much from a fresh retelling of the story.

I think I wrote about how obviously talented Florence Pugh is in my review of Midsommur and Fighting with my Family. She really is great again. It is especially notable here as she is sharing the screen with some very good actresses who are much more photogenic than her.

I don't consider it a feminist story. There is only one feminist in the family and she ultimately arrives at the reality that a man in her life completes her.

It is a story about family and sibling bonds. I suppose you could say reduce it to sister bonds but the story wouldn't be that much different if the children were brothers.

I'd say it is very much like a sister version of Legends of the Fall
